Drag Race winner Tyra Sanchez dragged for mocking recent death of Jiggly Caliente

Tyra previously was called out by RuPaul for her ‘evil’ comments after The Vivienne passed away

On Sunday, the world lost Jiggly Caliente – a RuPaul’s Drag Race legend as both a competitor and judge on Drag Race Philippines. The untimely passing of Jiggly Caliente has shocked the fandom and beyond, with an immense outpouring of love for her life and legacy. However, season two RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Tyra Sanchez has once again been dragged for completely insensitive comments about the death of Jiggly Caliente on Twitter – after Sanchez had previously mocked the death of The Vivienne in January.

Jiggly’s family announced her passing 0n Sunday

Jiggly Caliente, known out of drag as Bianca Castro, passed away in the early hours of April 27th, with her family announcing the news. After her close friend and season four fellow competitor Jaremi Carey (previously known as Phi Phi O’Hara) posted a heartfelt tribute to Jiggly, Tyra Sanchez made remarks that have been widely criticised as wholly insensitive.

It was previously announced that Jiggly Caliente had had to have most of her leg amputated a few days before her passing. Tyra Sanchez tweeted “Mwuah! No leg.”

Tyra continued in separate posts saying “You mad cause I’m BREATHING. THRIVING. LIVING. Free from any danger. Free from any overdose. Stalking my posts just to report them. You can’t defeat me. Meanwhile your fav is in a coffin somewhere or snorting a line or idk gettin’ they leg cut off.”

In a further post, Tyra said “Respect the dead. B**CH! Did the dead respect me? Mad at me ’cause she threw shade and I returned it right back? She thought she cooked. Now she’s cooked.”

Jaremi responded: “I wanna put this out there… Tyra is disruptive, sad, & alone in this world, and for reason…she built the desolate world she deserves, BUT her inability to show kindness, empathy or a whisper of class has nothing to do with her race please don’t fill my mentions with racist remarks especially in mine or Jiggly’s name. I’ve blocked and hid her response to keep the focus on my best friend, please do the same.”

Tyra had recently mocked the death of The Vivienne

What Tyra Sanchez said about Jiggly Caliente is not the first time she mocked the death of one of her franchise sisters. Within hours of the news The Vivienne had passed away suddenly in January, Tyra quoted an old tweet of Viv’s saying “Yet it doesn’t compare to the fumes of the crematorium.”

Kandy Muse, season 13 and All Stars 8 competitor, called Tyra out at the time saying “I’ve defended you for years but now you can absolutely go fuck yourself and if our path were to ever cross it’s absolutely on sight b*tch, it’s not a threat it’s a promise. you disgusting person.”

RuPaul also responded, posting a video from season two of her slapping Tyra across the face in a sketch.

Previously Tyra, out of drag known as James Ross, had been arrested after threatening to shoot police.
