All the cameos and cast confirmed for the new Big Bang Theory spinoff
We might see Penny and Amy return
Well, it’s official—Stuart Bloom is getting his own show. According to Deadline, The Big Bang Theory’s loveably awkward comic book shop guy is now the star of a brand-new Max spinoff. It’s called Stuart Fails to Save the Universe. But Stuart isn’t the only familiar face making a return. Here are all the cameos and cast members confirmed (so far) for the Big Bang Theory spinoff.
Kevin Sussman is back as Stuart (obviously)
After years as the lovable loner hanging around the background of The Big Bang Theory, Stuart Bloom is finally getting his moment. Kevin Sussman, who almost landed a main role back in the original casting days, is now leading the series. The spinoff marks a major milestone for the character, as he steps into the chaos of his own story, surrounded by a few other underdog icons from the franchise.
Denise returns: Sass, sarcasm, and reluctant romance

Lauren Lapkus returns as Denise, Stuart’s girlfriend and former comic book store colleague. Viewers loved her no-nonsense attitude and dry humour when she appeared in the final seasons of The Big Bang Theory, and now she joins the main cast. Expect sarcastic zingers, reluctant romance, and plenty of side-eyes.
Barry Kripke’s lisp lives on
John Ross Bowie is confirmed to reprise his role as Barry Kripke, everyone’s favourite chaos agent with a speech impediment and a PhD. He announced his comeback on Instagram with a classic Kripke pun, confirming that science’s most delightfully unhinged villain will be back for more mischief.

Bert’s still here (and still awkward)

Brian Posehn is also returning as Bert Kibbler, the sweet but socially clumsy geologist who had a low-key crush on Amy and a knack for saying the wrong thing at the worst time. He didn’t get a lot of screen time in the original show, but now he’s joining the regular cast for the spinoff, and we’re ready for the awkwardness.
Will the OG Big Bang gang appear?

So far, there’s no official confirmation of Sheldon, Penny, Raj, Leonard, Howard, or Amy making appearances, but it’s not off the table. Max exec Channing Dungey teased, “I would never say never,” when asked if the core cast might return. Kaley Cuoco (Penny) and Mayim Bialik (Amy) have both said they’d love to revisit their roles. Kunal Nayyar (Raj) has also thrown his support behind the show. Jim Parsons, however, seems to have finished with Sheldon after he wrapped up Young Sheldon as its narrator.
