Justin Bieber slams ‘stupid’ rumours he’s drowning in £16 million debt
‘Unnamed, and clearly ill-informed , sources’
So, Justin Bieber is facing some serious rumours this week. Reports claim he’s in financial trouble and millions in debt. But Justin Bieber’s team has called the debt rumours “clickbait stupidity” and slammed the sources behind it. Could these rumours be further from the truth? Here’s what we know.
Where did these rumours even come from?
The drama kicked off after The Hollywood Reporter published a profile called Justin Bieber’s Crisis of Faith?, which painted quite the grim picture. According to the piece, Bieber’s early cancellation of his Justice World Tour supposedly left him owing millions to tour promoter AEG, and he’s been financially “overstretched” ever since.
Justin’s team says it’s all nonsense
In a very punchy statement to Us Weekly, reps for Justin Bieber slammed the debt rumours. They said the claims are nothing but “clickbait stupidity” being pushed by “unnamed, and clearly ill-informed , sources” who are apparently just bitter they don’t work with him anymore.
“Any source that is trying to sell you a story about alleged financial distress… either doesn’t understand the entertainment industry or, more likely, is trying to paint an unflattering portrait of Justin,” the statement read. “It bears no resemblance to reality.”
What actually happened with the Justice World Tour?
For context, the tour was originally delayed by the pandemic in 2020. And then again in 2022 after Justin was diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary facial paralysis. He eventually cancelled the remaining dates in early 2023. The Hollywood Reporter claims that decision had financial repercussions including rumours of a $20 million (around £16 million) advance he hadn’t fully paid back.
But didn’t he sell his catalogue for £160 million?

Yes, and that’s the part his team is pointing out. This is the same guy who sold his entire music catalogue for a reported $200 million (£160 million) just two years ago.
All of this comes as people continue to speculate about Justin’s personal life. There’s been a lot of online chatter around his health, and his marriage. And apparently he has decided to cut ties with longtime manager Scooter Braun, as well as stepping away from his fashion label Drew House.
A rep told TMZ in February that Justin has simply been distancing himself from relationships that “no longer served him.” He called the past year “very transformative.”
