Jacqui has been granted an interim restraining order against MAFS Australia groom Ryan
She claims Ryan’s behaviour has ‘escalated’ and she has been ‘harmed’
MAFS Australia 2025 bride Jacqui Burfoot has been granted an interim restraining order against her on-screen groom, Ryan Donnelly. The pair have had a messy time on the show, and that has continued online whilst MAFS has been airing.
Court proceedings between the couple, who have been back and forth against each other on social media, have now began. The couple have made it very clear things didn’t work out between them on the show, and now the order is to stop Ryan making comments on social media about her.
According to The Canberra Times, Jacqui attended court on Monday for the second time, to lodge a complaint about comments Ryan allegedly made about her online. Jacqui reportedly claimed his alleged behaviour had escalated and complained specifically about an interview her on-screen husband did with Daily Mail Australia. In the interview, Ryan discussed an allegedly problematic joke that was cut from the show.

In court, Jacqui was reportedly warned proceedings could stop the show from going ahead, but Jacqui replied she was “happy for the show to go ahead”.
It was admitted in court that both Jacqui and Ryan had been posting online about each other whilst the show has been airing. However, it was claimed Jacqui had been harmed by what Ryan had posted. Jacqui also alleged that Ryan’s comments affected her ability to work as a lawyer.
The order is said to state Ryan cannot “directly or indirectly threaten, harass, abuse or publish on social media denigrating material”. Jacqui was also warned “against publishing material.”
