Pancake Day incoming: Here are the best brunch spots in London to celebrate
I’m ready to eat my body weight in pancakes
It’s official: We don’t have much left of this academic year. We’ve just entered into the second half of term two and it’s still raining in London. Let’s just say, our deadlines are approaching, and spring does not feel like it’s on its way.
This is why Pancake Day (Tuesday 4th March) is the perfect excuse for a little boost after reading week, before the term gets a little bit too real. Whether you want a cute day out with your friends, or looking for an affordable sweet treat to keep you going, this guide will have something for you.
Where The Pancakes Are, several locations
With a Pancake Day countdown on their website, Where The Pancakes Are is definitely prepared for you this upcoming Tuesday. They are offering a variety of options: including sweet, savoury, vegan, gluten and dairy free.
With locations walking distance from both Bush House and Guy’s Campus, this is the perfect option for brunch on Pancake Day.
My Old Dutch, Holborn
Ever had a Dutch pancake? Me neither but I want to try here ASAP. My Old Dutch is serving up traditional Dutch pancakes, and even butterscotch pancakes and waffles.
No bookings are currently being taken for Pancake Day as it’s so popular. Luckily, it’s only a nine minute walk from Bush House, so be sure to hurry after your lectures to get a spot.
Fuwa Fuwa Pancakes, Soho
Fuwa Fuwa translates to “fluffy”, or “light and airy” in Japanese, which is the perfect description of these soufflĆ© pancakes. This specialist Japanese pancake spot is a great option to try something new.

At home pancakes with your besties
Sometimes, the fun of pancakes is in making them yourself. They’re so easy to make, no matter how much of a mess your uni accommodation kitchen may be.
Make them from scratch, or buy some pre-made mix from any supermarket. M&S are selling pancake mix for Ā£1.
Have fun with any toppings of your choice, and test your flipping abilities. This is a super cute activity to do with your friends, and super affordable too. There’s really no excuse not to join in on the Pancake Day festivities.Ā
Happy Pancake Day!
