Here’s what happened in the I’m A Celeb camp after it nearly got evacuated due to storms
There was a whole game plan to get the celebrities out
Down in Australia, the I’m A Celeb camp was hit with a terrible rainstorm which left campmates and crew nearly needing to be evacuated. Reports from the camp say that parts of the set were heavily damaged, and access routes were swamped by flooding, meaning that last night’s trial was delayed by an hour.
I’m A Celeb hosts Ant and Dec shared videos of their trek to the campsite on Instagram throughout the weekend of heavy rainfall, with key paths submerged underwater making camp nearly inaccessible. Ant said on his Instagram story that the crew “all got texts this morning saying the rain is so bad you might not even make it in today.”
Dec also remarked on the camp’s limited staffing numbers thanks to the severe weather: “It was an effort to get the show on air today. There were only a few people here.”
People were right to be panicking because the storm itself saw a wild 114.5mm of rainfall pour down within just 24 hours, which also raised concerns for the satellite and transmission systems’ integrity.
