Ranked: 2024’s I’m A Celeb contestants by how likely they are to get the chop tonight

I’ll give you a hint – they’re wearing khaki and red socks in the jungle

I’m A Celeb’s first eviction is fast approaching, and though nothing is set in stone until the final vote is counted, I have a pretty good idea of who will be watching the rest of the show in their hotel.

Time has flown by since the celebs first touched down in Australia as part of 2024’s I’m A Celeb cast. We’ve seen displays of Coleen Rooney’s psychic abilities, dance lessons from Strictly Come Dancing’s own Oti Mabuse and even several editing errors that some claim point to staged trials.

The first celeb to be voted out will leave during Friday’s episode, and not to jinx it, but I’ve got my finger on the pulse of public opinion and know who it’s going to be. Don’t let me down.

12. Maura Higgins

2024’s I’m A Celeb cast wouldn’t be the same without everyone’s favourite Irish beauty Maura Higgins. Her brilliant one-liners and short fuse reminded me of why I loved her Love Island so much, and it’s only just beginning.

As the cast gets whittled down we are bound to see that quintessential Maura mouth come into action, with the likeliest targets currently being Jane Moore and Dean McCullough. For that reason, I can’t see the British public voting Maura out of the jungle anytime soon unless they want a more boring experience.

11. Tulisa Contostavlos

Tulisa’s comeback tour has seen her open up about her sexuality, dish on the drugs scandal from 2013, and flash the cameras her signature arm tattoo – all while gathering stars in her bushtucker trials and attempting to stay clear of camp drama.

After each episode, Twitter is flooded with adoring comments from people who love this modern iteration of Tulisa, and honestly, I can’t see her slinking back into the shadows anytime soon.

10. Reverend Richard Coles

If you told me that as a queer person my favorite I’m A Celeb contestant was going to be a Church of England priest, I would have called you a liar. Nonetheless, it’s true.

Reverend Richard Coles is a secret comedy genius and his friendships with GK Barry and Maura are proving that religion doesn’t have to be a topic to avoid. I’m not quite ready to pledge my life to God, so I’ll settle for giving Reverend Richard Coles a cheeky follow on Instagram.

He’s safe and secure, that’s for certain.

9. Danny Jones

Via ITV

As a former fanboy of McFly and a proud appreciator of good-looking men, I knew that Danny Jones was going to be one of my favourites when the 2024 cast was announced in November. He is yet to disappoint.

From showing that his hips don’t lie with Oti Mabuse, to getting tearful about his mental health, Danny Jones is no one-trick pony and viewers are eating it up. If he’s not the king of the jungle, he’ll easily be in the top three.

8. Oti Mabuse

The ever-energetic Oti Mabuse makes my head hurt, and that’s only because she somehow has more energy than me despite being fed rations and sleeping in a jungle. She is incredibly entertaining and has developed friendships with almost every camp member, something viewers at home have picked up on.

I think Oti will make it quite far in the competition, but once those contestants start to drop, I fear she won’t be able to offer as much as the likes of Maura or Danny.

7. GK Barry

Influencers get a bad rap in 2024 thanks to the actions of a few, but GK Barry is single-handedly rewriting that with killer one-liners and a vulnerability I was not expecting. Providing she doesn’t make some enemies, I could see GK Barry getting to the final with ease.

6. Alan Halsall

Though Alan Halsall has been well-received by viewers, I can’t help but see him as the human form of “meh” as I struggle to think of a single iconic moment besides his budding friendship with a spider.

Despite my own opinion, I’m placing Alan in the middle of the pack as I don’t think he’ll be voted out anytime soon, and definitely not in Friday’s episode.

5. Coleen Rooney

via ITV

At the onset of the series, amongst Rebekah Vardy’s critiques of the show, Coleen Rooney was widely pegged to be the upcoming queen of the jungle. Though I too thought that to begin with, the Wagatha Christie narrative has gone stale and I’m suddenly counting down the days until her exit.

Someone give this woman her phone, she does her best work on Twitter.

4. Melvin Odoom

Much like Alan, Melvin Odoom is somewhat lost amongst the larger personalities like GK Barry and Maura who practically grab the cameras and dominate screen time. But all hope is not lost.

When Melvin is with another contestant one-on-one, he comes alive and we get to better see why he was included in this year’s crop. We’ve seen his frustrations with Dean McCullough, and though he has managed to control himself, the best thing he could do right now is let him have it. I’m messy I know – sue me.

He might have his shortcomings, but I think Melvin will remain on our TV screens for a few more episodes at least.

3. Barry McGuigan

I hate to say it but I’m really not feeling Barry McGuigan on I’m A Celeb. Though he captured my attention with the devastating story about his late daughter, that was at the start of the show. In the last few episodes, I fail to find a single moment that suggests Barry will be victorious by the end.

But don’t take my word for it as, despite my own opinion, Barry is very popular with I’m A Celeb’s primary audience of middle-aged people. My mum loves him, so there’s still hope he won’t get the chop when the time comes.

2. Jane Moore

Jane Moore has not committed the ultimate reality TV crime of being forgettable, but she has done her best to annoy just about every camp member. She accused a few of the lads of being sexist and ageist, something viewers scathed about on Twitter.

I believe Jane is in serious danger of being deported from the jungle, and considering the short amount of time she’s got for redemption, it’s practically set in stone. Her only saving grace is the fact that my number one is despised even more, until the next vote of course.

1. Dean McCullough

Via ITV

What to say about Dean McCullough that hasn’t already been screamed about on Twitter? He might be rubbish at his actual chores, but Dean has done a bang-up job of isolating himself from his co-stars.

Providing the British public doesn’t look to punish Dean more with the more dastardly bushtucker trials to come, I think we can expect Dean to be checking into the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort tonight. Hopefully, they haven’t watched the show or his room service might be missing a few items.
