Inside the mega-fancy hotel the I’m A Celebrity cast recover from the jungle in

There’s a private marina and a lagoon with tropical fish?!

The I’m A Celebrity campmates get to stay in a seriously bougie hotel once they’re booted off the show, and it couldn’t be more different from the camp.

Honestly, if I was rotting away in the I’m A Celebrity camp having to live off rice and beans and sh*t in a shed, I would start acting super annoying on purpose so that I get voted off and I can start drinking champagne in jacuzzis sooner. Maybe that’s secretly Dean’s game plan?

Here’s a very nosy look inside the fancy hotel where the I’m A Celebrity cast get to stay.

The I’m A Celebrity gang stay at the JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa

The hotel is a massive upgrade from the camp. The rooms are super nice, and most seem to have amazing views of the ocean. They’re not cheap, though – staying in a guest room with a balcony in November will set you back 759 Australian dollars (£390) per night.

How far is the hotel from the camp in the jungle?

The legendary I’m A Celebrity camp is actually called Dungay Creek. It’s in Springbook National Park, in New South Wales. It takes around an hour to get from the hotel to where I’m A Celeb is filmed. Once people start voting campmates off the show, all the celebrities’ families and friends have to be driven from the hotel to the jungle at the crack of dawn just in case their person is the one who leaves.

The hotel is also about an hour’s drive away from Byron Bay, where the launch show with all the helicopters was filmed this year.

There’s a saltwater lagoon with tropical fish?!

The hotel’s standout feature is that it has a massive saltwater swimming pool, featuring waterfalls, a grotto and more than 200 tropical fish. People too lazy to walk to the beach can go snorkelling in the pool, and help feed the fish.

It won the Australia’s Best Hotel Pool award in 2021 and 2024. Not gonna lie, I can see why.

Who gets to stay in the hotel?

The celebrities stay in the hotel for a few days before they head into the jungle. The crew take their phones from them, so they (in theory) can’t google who their future campmates are.

Jane Moore told MailOnline that she wasn’t exactly roughing it. She said, “I’ve got a lovely view of the Gold Coast. I’ve got a telly with about 900 channels.”

A few family members and friends also get to stay in the fancy hotel while the celebrities are being voted off, ready for that two-second shot of the celeb hugging their friend on the bridge as they leave.

Crew members also stay in the hotel.

According to The Mirror, Ant and Dec always stay in the same beachfront penthouses with their wives and kids. The penthouses apparently cost £1,000 per night.

The hotel has a massive spa

The spa’s website says there are “experiential retail and treatments that are tailored to your exact needs and focused on delivering four distinctive benefits — Calm, Indulge, Invigorate and Renew.” I don’t understand what that means, but it sounds like it would solve all my problems.

There are loads and loads of OTT bougie activites

I don’t think the I’m a Celeb campmates’ families will be bored when they’re kicking about at the hotel. The hotel has jacuzzis, basketball courts and something called sea scooters (?). There’s literally a private marina so you can go jet skiing and kayaking without coming into contact with commoners.

The JW Marriott Gold Coast Resort & Spa has pizza-cooking classes, aqua aerobics and herb-planting sessions. I’m not making any of this up. The bougie programme of children’s activities legit includes sushi-making classes for $29 per kid and junior mixology classes for $30 per kid. So if Dec gets bored, he’s all sorted!
