The worst Love Is Blind editing errors of all time prove the show is anything but real

From camera crews in bushes to staged pod dates

As with any reality TV show, Love Is Blind is one that has become plagued with editing errors. Any show that promises heightened drama and big scandals ends up forcing this upon us, and editing the cast members and situations to make sure chaos happens.

Over the many seasons of Love Is Blind Netflix has now had, continuity has been an issue in a number of ways. We’ve had obviously staged chats, cast members changing clothes and even members of the crew popping into vision to say hello. It’s been just as messy behind the scenes as it has been during them.

Here is a rundown of the worst editing errors there have ever been during Love Is Blind.

Alex’s changing shoes and drink straw

During season seven there was a huge double editing error in the pods. In the first episode of the season, Tim and Alex went on their first date. The couple sat down, and got straight into talking about astrology and compatibility. At first, Alex was seen all dressed up for her date, but had clearly picked comfort too – opting for a pair of fluffy slippers on her feet.

But then, in less than a second, and whilst the couple still appeared to be talking about their star signs, Alex was wearing heels! As if by magic. The camera showed Tim’s reaction to something she said, and then a second later went back to Alex’s pod and her shoe change had happened.

Eagle eyed viewers among us also noticed that in exactly the same take the straw in Alex’s drink also changed. It went from her sipping out of a striped straw, to a gold one. So, was this even the same date we were seeing or a completely different one made to appear at the same time?

The most confusing error with Clay and AD

I knew reality tv was fake but this was a really bad edit fail by Netlix that my wife caught 😂 #loveisblind #netflix #fyp

Possibly the biggest of any Love Is Blind editing errors there have ever been came in episode seven of season six. The newly engaged couples headed on a holiday together to celebrate their commitments in the pods and start getting to know each other in the real world.

During the trip, AD and Clay sat down together to have a conversation, with the ocean in the background. It all looked beautiful and perfect, until it became clear how much of a mess the filming for this scene really was.

Out of nowhere, midway through their chat, all of these lines appeared on screen?! It was almost as though the scene was split in two, with Clay filming his bit and AD filming hers, and then the two shots being pieced back together.

What made it even worse was that at one point, Clay’s fingers cross over one of the lines on the screen, and become all chopped up and disjointed from his hand. I’m serious when I tell you… it was WEIRD.

This staged chat between Sal and Mallory

During the second season of Love Is Blind, people spotted an error with couple Sal and Mallory. During an intense chat about their relationship over dinner, the amount of food on their plates was constantly changing. This highly implied the scene was shown to us out of order.

A TikToker was who first spotted it. They said: “I want you guys to look at how much they cut this sh*t and you don’t even notice. So they both have full plates of food, right? Now, pay attention to the amount of food on plates. Both full. Both full. Hers is kinda half empty, but just wait….gone! Gone! Right there. His food is gone.” Someone in the comments joked: “They think we’re the blind ones.”

The plates went from full to empty, full to empty – over and over again.

Food was back showing editing errors in season four

At this point, all reality shows should stop doing scenes over meal times. Here we are back again discussing how food has shown us that clips aren’t shown to us correctly.

During a family meeting with Chelsea, Kwame and Chelsea’s dad Charlie, the plates went from completely full to completely empty. This was all in one take, no cut, no time, nothing. An actual disappearing act, right before your eyes.

The Love Is Blind camera crew was hilariously spotted in the bushes

This one makes me chuckle every time – the Love Is Blind camera crew was just seen clear as day hanging out in the bushes. No biggie, just getting some angles!

The moment came in episode 10 of season six, as the cast headed to a bbq catch up to hash out all the drama. Some arrived in their couples, and some arrived on their own.

AD arrived early to the get together, and was later joined by partner Clay, who had been at work. As Clay arrived, he went over to Jimmy to say hi, and behind them the Love Is Blind camera crew was right there in the bushes for all to see.

The gold goblets are used by Love Is Blind for the entire purpose of preventing editing errors

If you’ve ever wondered why Love Is Blind makes the cast drink out of gold goblets for the whole season – it’s mainly to avoid editing errors. Yes, the cups have become a universal symbol of the show, too. But, for the most part, because the cups aren’t see-through it means we won’t be able to see the amount of drink in the cup, and therefore if clips have been sliced up and changed around. Sneaky!
