Love Is Blind UK has just landed on Netflix and already there’s a standout character in Sam. People on Twitter can’t stop talking about him, and *no spoilers* but he takes us on a hell of a journey in the first drop of episodes.

31-year-old Sam is from London, and works as a project design manager. He has said his progression up the career ladder has come at a cost, as it’s left little time to focus on love. According to his LinkedIn, Sam currently works for Radically Digital and, a bit of a flex, he directed and edited for the London Lifestyle Awards in 2015.

He’s had a pretty posh upbringing

Sam was privately-educated, having gone to Aldenham School, a private boarding school in Elstree. The school currently sets its fees at £14,297 per term for boarding pupils.

After his posho schooling, Sam went to Leeds Beckett University, where he studied broadcast media technologies. He was on the football team at uni, and graduated in 2010.

Sam has said his mum is the reason he’s on Love Is Blind UK

Ahead of going on the show, Sam admitted his mum has been at him for years about settling down. So of course, he’s now finally trying to make her happy, and is going on Love Is Blind.

His Love Is Blind UK bio reads: “For years, Sam’s mom has been on his back about settling down and finding a wife, but he’s entering the experiment for his own reasons. With two heartbreaks in his past, Sam wants to make his third shot at love the one that lasts a lifetime.

“He’s excited to lead with his personality in the pods, as women in London tend to focus on Sam’s height (for the record, he’s 6’4) instead of his heart. But he hasn’t made any real attempts at dating lately, as his ‘extraordinary’ career growth has been on the forefront of his mind, while his love life has fallen by the wayside.”

His Instagram shows off his boujie life

Sam has just under 6k Instagram followers right now, and if he didn’t say he’s from London enough on the show, his profile is a big reflection of his fancy London life.

He’s always hanging out at the best hot spots, on rooftop bars and at events with friends. He also clearly loves going away, and has recently travelled to Dubai, Malta and Ibiza.

On Love Is Blind UK, Sam opened up about his insecurities

Sam was pretty open in the pods, and opened up about his insecurities and how they have affected his lifestyle. “I never liked what I saw in the mirror, and I have done things to improve my appearance,” he said.

“I did have a nose job. I’ve always been conscious of certain things. Since I found out about this experiment, I came off the dating apps. I trained very hard in the gym. Great new skin care routine. The whole lot.”
