Cracked the case? Here’s what to watch after A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder

Because who doesn’t love a messy murder mystery

Already binged the entirety of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, and looking for something new to watch? Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered for your next weekend Netflix sesh.

The show follows a young girl, Pip, who is investigating whether 17 year-old Andie Bell was actually murdered by her boyfriend Sal Singh five years ago. And if Sal wasn’t the murderer, who is?

The show is available to watch on US Netflix and BBC iPlayer if you’re from the UK. But for now, here’s some Netflix recommendations to keep you entertained:

One of Us Is Lying

This show is the perfect watch after you’ve seen A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, because it’s got a very similar storyline, only with a dark twist. It’s a classic school murder scandal, except a group of students in detention actually witness Simon die after drinking from a cup laced with peanut oil. The epipens are all mysteriously missing and the students all become key suspects in what will soon be a very high-profile murder case.

Geek Girl

Geek Girl is a perfect tween feel show with a great storyline. It’s about an awkward girl who gets her life turned upside down after she is scouted by a top modelling agent. A bit more light-hearted than A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder, but deffo still bringing the vibes.

Pretty Little Liars

This absolute throwback will transport you into a world of drama, darkness and hilariously terrible dialogue. This 2010s show had more spins than a twister mat and more drama than Love Island. Can you believe the wildest part of the show WASN’T a 16 year old dating her 25 year old English teacher? Or even a girl who pretended to be blind, then actually went blind? If you miss messy drama, it’s time to give this show a rewatch. The show recently came off Netflix but you can still watch it on BBC iPlayer!

Never Have I Ever

This show is the perfect coming-of-age Netflix gem that doesn’t get the credit it deserves. Written by iconic The Office (US) writer and star Mindy Kaling, it’s funny, cringey and messy in all the right ways.

The Society

This show had me HOOKED when it came out in 2019. The mystery is insane, it’s beyond messy in the best way, and there were so many burning questions I just had to know the answer to. Be warned, the show didn’t get renewed for a season two, so be prepared for disappointment. It genuinely pains me that I never got to know what happened.

Shadow and Bone

Missing a bit of fantasy? Want a morally grey love interest? It’s time to listen to the Twitter stans and watch Shadow and Bone. And just a heads up, you’re definitely going to fall in love with Ben Barnes.

Stranger Things

Loved the mystery of A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder? Want to solve an even bigger case, perhaps a demogorgon-sized one? You should definitely watch Stranger Things, where intrigue is the topic of every episode.
