Nottingham Trent University student allegedly raped girl he met on Tinder
The student went back to the woman’s room after she had been on a night out
Nottingham Crown Court heard a 19-year-old woman was allegedly raped by a Nottingham Trent University student after meeting him on Tinder.
The alleged perpetrator, Tuan Kiet Duong, met the woman in the early hours, after she had been at Nottingham nightclub Oceana.
The jury heard that the pair had been conversing in the woman’s bedroom, when Duong tried to kiss her, but she said “no”.
The 19-year-old maintained that she did not want any sexual activity to take place, but Duong is alleged to have forcibly undressed and raped her however he denies the allegations against him, reported Nottinghamshire Live.
CCTV footage of the night shows Duong meeting up with her, having a cigarette and sitting on a bench before going inside her property.
The prosecutor, David Allan, told the jury: “She said they went to her bedroom, sat on her bed and talked for a bit.
“She said he began to move closer to her on the bed and then he tried to kiss her. She said, ‘no, this isn’t what you are here for’. She pushed him away with her hand and again said, ‘no’.
“He said, ‘why not?’ He pushed her onto the bed and lay on top of her. His knees were on either side of her legs. She tried to get him off using her legs to kick him away. She tried to sit up”.
The jury then heard that Duong grabbed the woman by her waist, turning her so her stomach was on the bed, and putting one knee on her back to keep her there.
The court was told that the Nottingham Trent student said “I’m finished now” afterwards, dressing himself and leaving.
The woman then called 111, and then 999, after asking how she proceed.
