Kurupt FM are coming to York, and they’re bringing Mike Skinner with them

‘UK Garage IS today’s music scene’

UK garage superstars Kurupt FM will be coming to York next month, and they will be bringing Mike Skinner of ‘The Streets’ fame along with them.

The sort-of-fake-but-also-very-real garage collective, headed by MC Grindah, will be coming to the York Barbican on the 4th November. They started out on YouTube before being picked up for the mockumentary series ‘People Just Do Nothing’ by the BBC, which recently concluded its third season with a fourth one already commissioned.

Alongside them will be Mike Skinner, AKA The Streets, whose down-to-earth raps about fish in the sea and attractive women who are just a little bit too aware of the fact that they are attractive have made him a multi-platinum sensation in the UK. This summer also saw the release of their first single, ‘Heart Monitor Riddem’, a touching ode to lyrical mastery over one’s competitors.

The event is being organised by Reach, the same promoters who brought Chase & Status to the Barbican on the 8th October. Tickets are on sale now.
