Four star Kenilworth hotel could become ‘luxury’ Warwick accommodation

Move over, Bluebell

A four-star Hotel in Kenilworth could be transformed into luxurious student accommodation, if the recently submitted plans are approved by Warwick District Council.

Victoria Lodge on Warwick Road would target “postgraduate students or young professionals associated with Warwick University.”

The 11-bedroom house would run very similarly to a hotel, excluding the provision of breakfast.

Students would benefit from cleaning and laundry services.

On the application form, applicant Neil Currie described the move as a “unique proposition” that would “attract a high standard of clientele.”

Following the accommodation issues at the start of the academic year, first years seem pleased with the proposal, believing that the move would provide a viable option for current students.

Fresher Tom said: “I think it’s a good thing to do. The university is expanding and we need more space for students.

“It would also probably have a positive impact on the local economy.”
