Division Street is closed too

Two Sheffield student streets are cordoned off after a teenager was seriously injured in a stabbing.

Police were called at 4.15am this morning to reports that a 19-year-old had been knifed in the Carver Street area.

He was taken to hospital and remains in a serious condition, police said.

A 23-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and is in custody.

The area has been sealed off this morning as police launch an investigation into the stabbing.

Carver Street – home to Viper Rooms, Popworld, Paris and Walkabout – is cordoned off from West Street to Division Street.

Police tape is also covering Division Street, from Carver Street to Rockingham Street.

Anyone with information is urged to call 101.
