£140,000 of fines raked in by Library Sheikhs in the last three years

Naughty bookworms have amassed over £140,000 in fines since 2012.

In just one year, Luf’s library raked in a massive £69,000.

Last year was relatively tame compared to the previous two years, but they still collected over £19,498 in fines.

2012/13 – £69,087.18

2013/14 – £54,168.53

2014/15 – £19,498.99

This year has also seen 142 disciplinary offences, amounting to a total of £9,575.

One troublemaker received a £350 fine for a “failure to maintain honest and peaceable behaviour.”

The worst year on record was 2012/13 where there were “an unusually high number of major disciplinary offences”. There were 222 offences and one individual recorded a whopping £750 fine for committing a “serious act of defraud, deceit or dishonesty.”

In 2012/13 there were an abnormal amount of “drug-related offences” leading to disciplinary fines totalling £11,895.
