The best places to cry on campus

Awwww

crying Loughborough Loughborough University

Everyone needs a good cry once in a while (or everyday) so this is a guide to help you find the best place to cry on campus.

The SU

For crying out loud, this is where the crying games get real.

The union provides several different rooms, a plethora of nooks and crannies where one can cry their heart out.

Whether it’s on a night out after an epic fall on the cogs dance floor, or during the week when you’re only half way through 6 hours of lectures. Try to avoid the sofas right in the middle before people will slow down to take a look and things get awkward quickly.

Grab yourself some bubble tea and let the tears flow.

The Fountain

This is for the romantics among us.

Just sit next to that contaminated water and let the tears (and snot) go like a fountain of sorrow. This setting adds some drama to the whole experience, relax and imagine yourself in an old black and white movie set in Rome.

This is a perfect spot for any attention seekers out there because you can be a 100 per cent certain that people will see you and if you are lucky you might get a cuddle out of it.

The Fitness Studios in Sir David Wallace

Because Mirrors!! You get distracted with trying to look cute and sad at the same time.

Great opportunity to fix an ugly crying face and most importantly you can make up an interpretive dance to Justin Timberlake to really express your emotions.

That new building with the cool pillars

This is for the hard-core criers, the overactive teargland-ers, the my tears flow like a waterfall-ers.

Those majestic pillars will shelter you and do their best to hide your breakdown from the rest of the world. They will be there to catch you when you fall.

The campus shuttle

Nothing like looking out of the window of a moving vehicle as the tears come tumbling down. No one will notice you, or care.

The SU Shop

Grab yourself some overpriced goodies and head home to begin the comfort eating. In the words of the great Olivia Rennie “eat your feelings rather than show them.”

(Disclaimer: Only 1 day of comfort eating allowed. Don’t overdo it)
