Student found dead in Leodis

Leeds Student confirmed dead in University accommodation on Friday evening


A student has been found dead in University Halls Leodis. 

Police were called to the student accommodation at 7.40pm on Friday following “a call of concern for a man there.”

The body of a 20-year-old male was discovered by emergency services, who confirmed that he had died at the scene.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: “There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances” surrounding the death.

Students took to social media to describe the scene, tweeting: “Scenes at Leodis: Dozens of police, fire engines, ambulances and scientific support.”

Others have used Twitter to express their condolences. Another student said: “Such a sad night for everyone in Leodis. Thoughts going out to the family, friends and flatmates.”

A coroner’s report will be prepared to determine cause of death.
