Timepiece to fill Hole in the Wall

Owners of neighbouring club prepare for opening in 2-3 weeks.

After remaining vacant for a year, the site which formerly hosted Hole in the Wall is set to reopen later this term.

The venue, which closed in February last year, was purchased by neighbouring venue Timepiece following the expiration of their 25-year-lease.

In its previous incarnation, the venue hosted regular university tennis and hockey socials.

The new owners are attempting to market their new venture as a nightclub, highlighting its capacity of up to 700. The venue will open under a new name, yet to be confirmed.

Exeter’s student nightlife, criticised as its ‘worst feature’ in the Sunday Times by former Guild President Nick “Badger” Davis, has remained relatively unchanged since the reopening of the Cellar Door in 2011.
