What’s on for the final week of term? Stonking Cheese blasting from Union and Shack Up’s Juke box or the unadulterated tribal beats reverberating from Gorilla Rhythm, there’s something out there for everyone. Let’s take a look at our top picks.

OPAQUE presents Tasker

A night you should all be familiar with by now. Continuing in the footsteps of Signal, the event aims to showcase the best names in UK DJ culture and clubbing, complimented by the intimacy and sunset view of the Library’s terrace.

This time they’ve daringly booked the driving force behind YouTube’s world famous ‘Boiler Room’ for a 2 hour DJ performance. The perfect pres for those who want to get that end of term party started early in style (and with £2 pints we understand why!).

Ignition

Durham’s bread and butter night seizes Loft to throw down the best in Hip-Hop/RnB/Trap. Perfect pick for socials, large groups and those to looking to finally seal the deal with the hot spice you’ve been secretly been admiring in the Billy B for the last 3 weeks while you pretend to do your diss.

Gorilla Rhythm – Ploy

Who said raving in Durham was dead? Boasting an upgraded 40hz sound system and their biggest techno DJ booked to date, the night continues to provide Durham with an outlet for festival and underground clubbing culture. Playing music catering to those who prefer their beats served with a little more bass, this ones definitely one to check out for those who wish Newcastle was at their doorstep.

Shack Up Presents ‘Juke Box’ Term Finale

Shack up returns to its new home Studio and Union to satisfy our Wednesday night cravings. The Juke box will be rammed full of cheesy classics and the bar stacked high with unparalleled drinks deals to keep your social going all night.

Rotate – Sulzy

The Bailey has been pulsating with energy the last 2 weeks with new night on the block Rotate opening its doors to all. The night has been a breath of fresh air with laid back, positive vibes and a nonprofit policy, hosted in Fabio’s much loved and flamboyant cocktail bar.

The night prioritises diversity with a new DJ and change of charity every week. This week they’ve invited Gorilla Rhythm’s Resident DJ, Sulzy, to share his house and disco collection before he takes to the decks at his Thursday night event. Definitely not one to miss for those seeking something new and exciting.

Every week, Rotate tries to raise money for charity. This week they will be supporting St Johns Ambulance, a charity providing first aid training to young people. In light of recent incidents we believe this is a very worthy cause.

Well Spread – Open Decks

New night opening in Empty Shop for the last Friday of term. It’s open decks for the vinyl enthusiast and 8-11pm, perfect those who wish to end their term without the accompanying hangover.
