Man killed after wall surrounding University of Bristol student accommodation collapses
An investigation has been launched following the incident last Wednesday
Avon and Somerset Police has launched an investigation after a workman was killed in the collapse of a wall near Bristol University’s Wills Hall.
The incident happened outside the student accommodation just before 1pm on Wednesday September 4th on Parry’s Lane.
A large section of the wall collapsed onto the pavement in the Stoke Bishop area, where the road splits toward Saville Road on the edge of the Downs, BBC reports.

Avon and Somerset Police were called to the scene by ambulance staff, arriving around 12:50pm.
Their statement following the incident reads: “The man sadly died while at work and we are therefore liaising with the Health and Safety Executive and together, are carrying out enquiries into the incident.
“His next of kin are aware and our thoughts are with them at this extremely difficult time.”
A University of Bristol spokesperson said: “Our thoughts are with all those affected by the tragic incident that took place last week.
“We are liaising with the relevant authorities.”
