From models to a self proclaimed witch: Here’s a look at Andrew Garfield’s dating history

Andrew Garfield is all over our screens as he promotes his new movie, We Live In Time. He’s has been a heartthrob to many over the years with his gorgeous face, kind demeanour and sense of humour, so I’m not alone in that I can’t wait to see him as a leading romantic man alongside Florence Pugh.

If there was an award for giving the best compliments, it would definitely go to Andrew. He won this spot with his viral monologue describing Emma Stone as a “shot of espresso”. He is one of a very few men who has been written by a woman with his sensitive and gentle nature. He’s also a massive catch and I’m jealous of all those women who have had the pleasure to date him. So jealous, that I’ve compiled an extensive list of Andrew Garfield and his dating history so we can all envy them together.

Shannon Woodward – 2008 to 2011

Andrew dated the American actress Shannon Woodward for three years. He was very open about his relationship when asked about it by the press, which is unlike the Hollywood actor. It was rumoured that Shannon would come on many work trips with Andrew, if she wasn’t working herself. Their romance fizzled out in 2011 when Andrew started shooting The Amazing Spiderman and grew closer with cast-mate Emma Stone.

Emma Stone – 2011 to 2015

Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield’s relationship is my Roman Empire. They began their relationship while filming the The Amazing Spiderman, where they played love interests. The public adored how cute these two were with each other, from giggling in interviews, to cuddling during errands. It’s even rumoured that the Taylor Swift song When Emma Falls In Love is based on their relationship and how in love they both were.

They were ultimate couple goals. Even after their heartbreaking split, they have shown they still hold a lot of respect and love for one another and champion each others achievements.

Susie Abromeit – 2018

After the devastating Emma Stone split, Andrew took a three year dating hiatus. However, in summer 2018 he was spotted getting cozy with Susie Abromeit in Malibu. Susie is an actress who is best known for her role in Jessica Jones, but has recently entered the world of Hallmark Christmas movies (iconic). The romance did not seem to last long though.

Rita Ora – 2018 to 2019

This is such a rogue pairing in my eyes but they were seen very close in winter of 2018 and even reportedly spent Christmas together. The pair were spotted holding hands and being close around London but it only lasted four months. This fling left the pop singer heartbroken as it was Andrew who reportedly cut things off, in order to have a quiet and less high profile dating life. Sorry Rita, it appears you may have been a fling to make those winter months a bit less cold and lonely…

Aisling Bea – 2019

In 2019, Aisiling Bea and Andrew Garfield sparked dating rumours when they were spotted looking close at the theatre. The pair were seen laughing together at a performance of smash hit musical Hamilton, right after Aisling Bea had split from actor Micheal Sheen. It was never confirmed whether they properly dated or just tested the water as a couple, but they definitley had chemistry.

Christine Gabel –  2019 to 2021

Andrew started dating model and medical student (very rouge combo)  Christine Gabel in summer 2019. The pair kept their relationship very private but were spotted together frequently in 2021 before their quiet split.

Alyssa Miller – 2021 to 2022

Andrew was spotted holding hands and spending time in New York with model Alyssa Miller in November 2021. They then attended a public appearance together in February 2022. They seemed very close, but it had fizzled out by April 2022.

Phoebe Dynevor – 2022

Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor was seen getting cozy with Andrew at the end of 2022. They reportedly met at the 2022 GQ Men Of The Year awards and instantly hit it off. However, this romance seems to have been extremely short lived.

Olivia Brower – January 2024

Model Olivia Browner, who is signed to JAG model agency, was captured hugging Andrew outside his house in January 2024. They were very smily but they were never publicly seen together again, so it obviously was a very fleeting romance indeed.

Dr. Kate Tomas – present

The newest girl on the Andrew Garfield dating history list is his current partner, who seems a very different choice from his previous girlfriends. Rather than being a model or an actress, Dr Kate Thomas is a philosopher, with two degrees from Oxford. The pair were first were spotted on a double date with Bo Burhnam and Phoebe Bridgers in March 2024.

They seem very smitten with each other but also keep their relationship private. Dr Kate Thomas is also a self proclaimed witch! She must have put a spell on Andrew, because these two have been spotted this summer at Wimbledon looking very happy.
