It’s been a year since Lizzo faced a wave of allegations from her former back up dancers. The allegations went from accusing her of saying a dancer needed to explain their weight gain to her in order to keep their job, to pressuring another to touch a naked dancer during a sex show in Amsterdam.

She then went on to say in an Instagram post that she was staying away from the spotlight for the foreseeable.

However, Lizzo still seems to be out and about a lot at high profile events, having been spotted both West Hollywood’s Pride and the Met Gala. So much for keeping on the down low. So, let’s have a look, shall we? What has Lizzo really been up to during her time away?

At the moment, it seems like Lizzo is soaking up the sun in Bali on a long holiday she’s calling her “gap year”.

She’s shared plenty of snaps of her appreciating traditional Balinese attire, and promoting her brand, Yitty from the jungle. She even posted a video of her free styling on the flute on a wooden walkway in the trees. It’s giving I’m A Celeb.

Lizzo’s also recently been to Turks and Caicos, so she’s pretty much having the ultimate hot girl summer.

Probably the worst place you’d want to go if you’re staying out of the spotlight, but nevertheless, Lizzo did head to the Met on the first Monday in May as is expected of any A-Lister.

She wore an outfit that honestly just reminds me of a Demogorgon from Stranger Things but what do I know about high fashion?

Despite saying she’ll stay out of the spotlight, Lizzo has definitely been back out and rubbing shoulders with other high profile people.

She’s been seen making TikToks with SZA on holiday and collabing with Chloe Bailey for Yitty.

Lizzo has been advocating for Black rights for years now, and this year away has not changed that.

In 2024, she focused her work on intersectionality, combining issues of race with LGBTQ+ movements, and has used social media and her website to educate on this topic.

Yitty, Lizzo’s shapewear brand seems to be the focus of the majority of her social media posts.

She’s made lots of videos showing new lines like the recently released ultra smooth leggings, as well as promoting her current up to 60 per cent off sale.

I suppose she’s in her business girly era now.
