‘Taste the goodness of the biscuit’: The story behind TikTok’s best viral sound

If Toasters ‘n’ Moose have 10 fans, I’m one of them

Taste the biscuit, you guys. Taste the GOODNESS of the biscuit. No TikTok For You Page is complete right now without a crumb of the best song ever made – but where exactly did Taste the Biscuit come? Who sings it? What the bloody hell is going on with the chrome woman strutting on the beach? Here’s everything you need to know.

First up, the song

Okay, so – the most important criteria here. Taste the Biscuit is the sound that’s all over TikTok, and it’s absolutely hypnotic. But where the hell is it actually from? Well, it’s from a mockumentary by Vincent Gargiulo called Chickens in the Shadows, and it’s as vibes as you’d expect.

The mockumentary tracks Toasters ‘n’ Moose, a pop duo from the 1970s, on their reunion tour in 2010. Taste the Biscuit was their big hit and if TikTok is anything to go by it’s obvious as to why. Here’s the full lyrics of the sensual chorus for your pleasure. You can’t read without singing along, I’m afraid.

It is on Spotify too, if you were wondering. Which I know you were.

Okay, but why the chrome woman?

Short answer? Because why the hell not! Chrome lady is a vibe! Jennersparkles74 on TikTok was the first to combine Taste the Biscuit with the Vacation Walk filter, and history was made. Now people are up in arms calling for the chrome lady to be freed from the matrix –  which is iconic, but also y’know, priorities people
