It’s official: Oxford students spend the most on takeaways every month

No time to cook when you’re bashing the books


New data from NatWest has revealed the university cities where students spend the most and least on takeaways every month.

On average, students in Oxford spend £52.80 every month on takeaways. That’s way more than students at universities elsewhere in the UK.

Students in Newcastle came second in this very important league table, spending £47.10 every month on delivered scran.

For students in Southhampton, it’s a completely different story. On average, they spend £12.10 every month on takeaways.

Students in Durham and Coventry also don’t really shell out on takeaways spending, on average, just £20.40 and £16.250 every month.

The survey also revealed that students in Liverpool spend the most on booze every month– around £73.80. That’s 50 per cent more than the average UK student.

Meanwhile students at university in London rely the most on the bank of mum and dad. 

On average, they receive £629.50 from their parents every month.
