All the celebrities who have been mentioned in the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial

Kate Moss is expected to testify tomorrow

As part of the defamation trial of Amber Heard and Johnny Depp a number of celebrities have been mentioned in both Depp and Heard’s testimonies. Most recently whilst giving her testimony on 5th May, Heard claimed Depp kicked her on a flight as he “hated” James Franco, who Heard was working with on a film at the time.

Amber Heard and Johnny Depp are currently taking part in a defamation trial in Virginia. Depp initially sued Heard for defamation for $50million following an article she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018 where she said she was a “public figure representing domestic abuse”. Heard did not mention Depp by name but he claimed the article caused him to lose acting roles. Heard then counter-sued Depp for $100million.

As part of both their testimonies they have mentioned numerous celebrities by name including Marilyn Manson, Paul Bettany and Winona Ryder, all of whom have varying degrees of relevance to the case.

These are the celebrities who have been named in the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation case so far:

Paul Bettany

English actor Paul Bettany is a friend of Johnny Depp and was not only brought up during this current trial but his text message exchange with Johnny was also part of Depp’s trial with The Sun last year.

In the current Amber Heard and Johnny Depp trial, Depp said during his testimony Amber was jealous of his relationship with Paul and saw him as a threat to their relationship.

Depp said: “Ms Heard despised Mr Bettany, mainly because we had become such close friends and for her, he was a threat and would take me away from her, with regard to if Paul Bettany were getting the attention from me, that was a show-stopper. It would cause all kinds of unpleasantries.”

Johnny Depp went onto say Amber Heard had upset Paul Bettany’s son whilst they were out for lunch with Bettany and his wife Jennifer Connoly.

Depp told the court: “He voiced his opinion, and Ms Heard demeaned that young man to the point of where he burst into tears and walked away.”

As part of the trial Amber’s lawyer Benjamin Rottenborn questioned Depp over his relationship with Bettany. He asked Depp if he had done drugs and drunk with Bettany, Depp responded: “That’s a strange question,” but did admit to doing drugs and drinking with Bettany.

The text messages which were used in the trial with The Sun last year were also brought up by Rottenborn.

He read aloud the texts Depp had sent about Amber to Bettany which read: “Let’s burn Amber!!!” and “‘I will f**k her burnt corpse afterward to make sure she is dead.” Depp admitted to sending the texts.

Whilst giving her testimony earlier this week Amber Heard alleged Depp had been out drinking with Paul Bettany whilst in London in 2014 and ended up being carried home by security like a “baby” and missed several days of work.

Elon Musk and Cara Delevingne

Tesla billionaire Elon Musk dated Amber Heard shortly after her breakup with Johnny.

In legal depositions before the trial began Musk’s name was brought up after it was alleged he had a threesome with Heard and Cara Delevingne. The alleged threesome was said to have occurred in 2016 in Depp and Heard’s Los Angeles apartment whilst Depp was away filming in Australia.

Speaking to Page Six Musk denied the claims and said he only began dating Amber after she filed for divorce.

He said: “Cara and I are friends, but we’ve never been intimate. She would confirm this.

“Also, I wish to confirm again that Amber and I only started going out about a month after her divorce filing. I don’t think I was ever even in the vicinity of Amber during their marriage!”

Cara has not commented on the allegations. Elon Musk was listed on Amber Heard’s witness list however he is not set to appear in court.

During the trial Depp and Heard’s former talent agent claimed Heard was dating Musk whilst trying to get back with Johnny.

James Franco

Amber Heard has known actor James Franco since 2008 when they worked on the film Pineapple Express together.

In 2014 Amber was set to work with Franco in another film called The Adderall Diaries. During her testimony Amber claimed Johnny kicked her during a private flight over her decision to accept the acting job alongside Franco.

She said Depp hated Franco and was screaming at her on a private flight. She said: “He had already been upset with me and accused me in many arguments about not telling him about scenes that I had, if I had a kissing scene.”

Heard claimed whilst they were on the flight Depp called her a “sl*t” and threw objects at her such as ice cubes and eating utensils. She claimed he hit her face and kicked her in the back.

During his own testimony Depp had previously admitted the couple had fought over Franco and he believed Heard was having an affair with Franco during their marriage.

Depp claimed Heard was “actively searching” for an argument before the boarded the plane as they had argued the night before.

Franco was listed as a witness by Heard’s defence team however he is not expected to appear in court.

Eddie Redmayne

During her testimony Amber Heard claimed Johnny Depp accused her of having an affair with Eddie Redmayne.

In 2015 Amber Heard starred alongside Eddie Redmayne in the film The Danish Girl. She said whilst she was away filming in London things were good between herself and Johnny until: “I got that sense that he thought I was sleeping with the director, and then it was with the actor I was filming with.”

Heard clarified the actor was Eddie Redmayne. She said Depp had called her at her hotel and when she didn’t pick up the call immediately he was angry.

She said: “We get into an argument. He was accusing me of [sleeping with] Eddie Redmayne. He thought I was working with Billy Bob Thornton but I’d already worked with him a year earlier. He was very upset about him.”

Winona Ryder

Actress Winona Ryder is an ex-girlfriend of Johnny Depp and he originally had a tattoo dedicated to her which said “Winona Forever”, after their breakup he had it altered to say “Wino Forever”.

During the trial this tattoo dedicated to Winona has come up twice. Depp was initially asked if Heard had any problems with his tattoos, he claimed she had one with the Winona tattoo.

Heard brought the tattoo up as she claimed when she asked Depp a question about the tattoo, it was the first time he hit her.

She said she asked about the tattoo as it looked like “black marks” and after he told her what it was she laughed and he allegedly slapped her.

Heard told the court: “To me it looked like black marks, I didn’t know what it said. I said ‘what does it say?’ He said it says ‘Wino’ and I thought he was joking and I laughed. He slapped me across the face and I laughed.

“I laughed because I didn’t know what else to do. I thought this must be a joke. Because I didn’t know what was going on.”

Heard claimed he slapped her three times for which he later apologised.

Kate Moss

Kate Moss is expected to testify in the trial tomorrow after Amber Heard alleged Johnny Depp had pushed Kate Moss and this led Heard to believe Depp was an abuser.

During the trial Heard recounted a moment in which she alleged Depp had “swung at” her sister whilst on the stairs. Heard said it reminded her of a claim she heard of Johnny Depp pushing Kate Moss down the stairs.

She said: “He was about to push her down the stairs and the moment before that happened, I remembered information I had heard that he pushed a former girlfriend – I believe it was Kate Moss – down the stairs.”

Kate dated Johnny Depp for three years starting in 1994 and is expected to testify in support of Depp when she appears as a witness.
