Police called over a bust-up at the home of Love Island’s Lucinda and her footballer ex

Police were called to the home of Premiership footballer Aaron Connolly after a reported bust-up with his ex-girlfriend, Lucinda Strafford from Love Island 2021. It was reported last week that the pair had split up, after rekindling their relationship after she failed to find love in the villa.

According to the Sun, police had to “calm Lucinda down” in the early hours of the morning last Sunday, following a row. She is said to have “kicked off” after questioning Aaron over whether he had cheated on her. Police were called at around 5:30am, after Lucinda returned from a night out, with a source saying “their relationship had been toxic for some time before this.”

“They broke up last year then wanted to give it another shot, but it just doesn’t look like it’s going to work,” the source continued. “Lucinda had a nice night out with her friends but later went to his place where things completely erupted. She’s had to put up with a lot during their relationship and she questioned him about him apparently cheating on her. She kicked off and police were called. She needed calming down by cops.”

A neighbour added: “We saw police Sunday morning. They had to be let in because it’s a gated community. There was a bit of a commotion. A woman was shouting and police were called to try to calm it down.” Sussex Police confirmed there had been a “domestic disturbance” at the address.

Lucinda and Aaron dated before she went on Love Island, and there were rumours they were still together when she went into the villa. She denied this and said they instead just decided to give things another go after she had been on the show. They are reported to have first broken up in early 2021, but just remained friends whilst she went on the show. The couple have now unfollowed each other on social media and are no longer together.
