Here’s where you recognise the cast of Netflix’s Top Boy from

There are some fresh new faces in this season


Netflix’s revival of Top Boy has an unreal cast- Micheal Ward, Jasmine Jobson, and Hope Ikpoku to name a few. The second season or fourth if you are a true Top Boy Summerhouse fan comes out on Friday.

The last season ended with the police’s undercover operation to take down Dushane as he became the new top boy of Summerhouse estate. After landing himself in prison, Jamie is met with a proposition by Dushane, which he seems to have taken in this new season.

The cast is filled with familiar actors, with this season bringing in some fresh new faces. Here is where you may recognise the season two/four cast of Top Boy from:

Jamie Tovell – Micheal Ward

Summerhouse estate’s now fallen top boy Jamie is played by Michael Ward.

Starring in Top Boy saw Ward’s rise to fame but he previously played Brendan in The A List. He has since starred in BBC’s Small Axe: Lovers Rock as Franklyn and in Blue Story as Marco.

Dushane Hill – Ashley Walters

Ashley Walters plays the role of Dushane, the newly appointed top boy of the Summerhouse estate. He has been a part of the show since it first aired in 2011 on Channel 4.

He is best known for his role as Ricky in Bullet Boy as well as his role as Ronnie Pike in Sky One’s crime drama Bulletproof.

Gerald ‘Sully’ Sullivan – Kane Robinson aka Kano

Kano stars as Sully who is Dushane’s partner who tried to leave his old life behind him before getting caught up with Dushane again in the last season.

Kane Robinson, whose stage name is Kano is known most in acting for his role as Sully in Top Boy. He is seen as one of the pioneers of grime music and has been in the music scene since the early 2000s.

Shelley – Little Simz

Simbiatu Ajikawo, professionally known as Little Simz plays Shelley, Dushane’s love interest in the show and carer for his mother.

She appeared in the E4 show Youngers as Meleka, and has recently won a Brit Award for Best New Artist.

Aaron Tovell – Hope Ikpoku

Aaron is played by Hope Ikpoku. He is Jamie’s younger brother and is a university student.

Hope starred in the film Blue Story as well as with his co-star Ashley Walters in Bulletproof.

Stefan Tovell – Araloyin Oshunremi

Araloyin plays Stefan and is Jamie and Aaron’s youngest brother. He made his acting debut in Netflix’s Top Boy.

Atticus ‘Ats’ Ayittey – Keiyon Cook

Keiyon Cooks plays the role of Ats, Stefan’s former best friend whom he betrayed at the end of last season.

Cook made his debut in Top Boy. It hasn’t been confirmed if Ats will make a return in this new season, but the trailer has alluded to his character being killed.

Amma Ayittey – Jolade Obasola

Amma is mum to Ats. We see her struggle to provide for her son as she loses her job at the beginning of the series.

She has recently starred in the short film Joy.

Jaq – Jasmine Jobson

In the show, Jasmine plays Jaq who is a drug dealer and a vital part of the crew in Summerhouse.

She hadn’t appeared in anything before Top Boy, in which she was nominated for a Bafta. Recently, she played the role of Lily in the film Surge.

Lizzie – Lisa Dwan

Lizzie is the supplier in Top Boy. She originally worked with Jamie and became his love interest, but is now working with Dushane.

The Irish actress is well known for her stage work but has starred in Bhopal: A Prayer for Rain as Marika, and recently in the new crime drama Bloodlands, alongside James Nesbitt.

Kit – Kadeem Ramsay

Kadeem’s character Kit is Jamie’s number two in the ZT gang.

Like Micheal Ward, he also appeared in Blue Story and Small Axe. He also played OctoBoy in Netflix’s Sex Education.

Lauryn – Saffron Hocking

Saffron Hocking stars as Lauryn who is Jaq’s sister. At the end of the last season, she is sent away after letting a secret slip to Sully’s enemy, Leyton.

Hocking is best known for her roles in White Gold and London Kills.

Becks – Adwoa Aboah

Becks is a brand new character in season four, with a connection to Jaq.

Top Boy will make Aboah’s acting debut. She is best known as a fashion model and was named as a ‘Next Generation Leader’ on the cover of Time Magazine.

Mandy – NoLay

Mandy is Dris’ girlfriend who has just come out of prison. She was in the Summerhouse series when it previously aired on Channel 4.

She is best known for her work as a rapper and has been making music since 2005.

Pebbles – Erin Kellyman

Pebbles is a brand new character in Top Boy who is set to bring trouble for Sully.

Erin has recently starred as the main antagonist in Marvel’s The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, as well as starring as Éponine in the BBC adaptation of Les Misérables.
