Love Island Australia season 1 is coming back to ITV2 this month

To fill that LI shaped gap in our lives

After the news Love Island is cancelled this summer because of coronavirus, we were all gutted, but thankfully ITV2 has heard our prayers and found an equally great, if not better replacement for the show – Love Island Australia is coming!

ITV2 announced today the first season on Love Island Australia is coming to the channel later this month. The show is very similar to the UK version, they stay in a villa in Mallorca and compete to win a $50,000 cash prize.

ITV2 said: “Starting later this month and airing nightly on ITV2, the Australian version of the UK’s favourite dating show is hosted by Sophie Monk and narrated by Eoghan McDermott. The series sees a bunch of sizzling Aussie singles embark on the ultimate summer of love, leaving the Australian winter behind them, as they take up residence in a luxury villa in Mallorca.

“Playing the definitive game of love, the Aussie Islanders will get to know each other in the hope of finding romance. But as new bombshells arrive on the Island, which couples will stand the test of time and make it all the way to the final, and have a chance of bagging the $50,000 cash prize? ”

In all honesty the Australian show is in a different league to the UK version. It has more fights, booze, sex and arguments and let’s face it the accents are just fitter.
