A tribute to Ryan-Mark: The Apprentice King who was gone too soon
Yeah he wasn’t a great candidate, but he was incredible TV
Last night we said goodbye to the king of The Apprentice: Ryan-Mark Parsons. From week one he was TV gold, a meme lord and one of the best candidates The Apprentice has ever seen – entertainment wise anyway.
Here are just a few of the many reasons Ryan-Mark was, and always will be, the king of The Apprentice 2019.
His general vibe was second to none
Ryan-Mark was like your posh best mate. How many times can one man say “epitome of luxury” in one TV series? Say what you want about his actual skills in business, but you can’t deny he was TV gold.
One word: Poo!!
From week one, we knew Ryan-Mark was a national treasure. The moment he pointed out of the car on the safari challenge and shouted “poo!!” at the elephant poo in his trademark posho voice I was sold, he’s a good’un.
When he said ‘you are a U-turn’
One of Ryan-Mark’s most iconic moments came in week two, when the apprentices were given the task of creating ice lollies. Ryan-Mark called Dean a “u-turn” and the rest is history.
I’ll never forget Ryan-Mark on a rollercoaster
And just when you thought he’d peaked with his entertainment value, The Apprentice went and put Ryan-Mark on a rollercoaster. He screamed like a baby and it was hilarious. This moment should go down in The Apprentice history.
Remember when everyone thought he was lying on the boardroom floor?!
Last week, there was a random man spotted lying on the boardroom floor towards the end of the show. Obviously everyone was confused.
One comment said: “@ryanmarkparsons WE NEED ANSWERS. WHY ARE YOU LYING ON THE FLOOR?” and: “Ryan Mark flabbergasted at being brought back into the boardroom”. Another added: “Just us wondering why @ryanmarkparsons is lying on the floor in the boardroom?”
Then to add to the confusion, Ryan-Mark tweeted himself saying: “Happens after every Boardroom #TheApprentice”.
But sorry to ruin the party, the mystery floor man was not Ryan-Mark. But he was the one to clear it up. He told The Tab: “It’s a member of production pressing the play button for the adverts” – which is a lot less fun.
When he fell out of the hammock in Finland
In the week where the candidates had to promote Finland, Ryan-Mark was messing about in a hammock and fell out, leaving everyone in stitches. All he had to say was: “It’s all over my coat”, of course.
When he kept saying ‘nice pole’ to a random man in Cambridge
The apprentices took a trip to Oxford and Cambridge where they had to find items and buy them for the cheapest price. One of the items was a “quant” which is the huge pole used in punting.
Next thing you know, Ryan-Mark is telling some random man in Cambridge he has a nice pole. Subtle.
His and Lottie’s off-screen friendship
He and fellow candidate, Lottie Lion, were just like two little posh peas in a pod. They’re besties in real life and I’m here for it.
They’re always tweeting each other support and when Ryan-Mark came back to the Apprentice house after being in the boardroom, Lottie would jump up and run to give him a hug.
10/10 friendship goals.
He’s a true meme lord
And not forgetting, the Ryan-Mark memes have been incredible. Here are just a few:
Good night, sweet prince.
