‘Apple’s worst ever product’: Four reasons people are majorly dragging the new iPhone Air

People already hate it and it’s not even out yet

Apple just announced its first new phone model in nine years, the iPhone Air, and people are seriously dragging it before it’s even out on 19th September.

They obviously release new numbered versions every September, like the iPhone 15 and 16, but this is the first new model the tech giant has released since the iPhone SE in 2016.

The iPhone Air is Apple’s “thinnest iPhone ever with the power of pro inside,” but it’s already being branded Apple’s “worst ever product” for four main reasons.

People think the iPhone Air is kinda… ugly

Firstly, the new iPhone Air is getting dragged online because the design is pretty ugly. Apple has added a new raised “bulge” at the top of the device, which has the camera and flash on top, and people aren’t a fan. Everything thinks it makes the phone look horrible from both the back and the side.

It’s thin, but this compromises battery life

It’s also getting dragged because the battery life is worse than the basic iPhone 17, even though the device is more expensive. The phone lasts up to 27 hours when watching videos, compared to 30 hours for the iPhone 17, but it costs £100 more. Make it make sense?

To combat the lower battery life, Apple has designed a battery pack that fits onto the back of the iPhone Air. It costs $99 and brings your battery life up to 40 hours. But hang on a minute, attaching a clunky battery pack literally defeats the whole purpose of having a lighter, thinner phone? You may as well just make the phone thicker.

The iPhone Air only has one camera

Everyone hates the fact that the new iPhone Air only has one camera, too. Even the most basic iPhone 16 model released last year has two cameras stacked on top of each other in a vertical line. Apple really thought they could get rid of a whole camera and nobody would notice?

It’s more expensive than the iPhone 17, with fewer features

And finally, it all comes down to price. The iPhone Air retails at £999 in the UK, while the iPhone 17 is only £799 and has a better battery life and two cameras. It’s a no-brainer which one to buy! If you want a more advanced device, the iPhone 17 Pro is only £100 more at £1,099, while the iPhone 17 Pro Max is £1,199. Apple really missed the mark with this one.
