Emilie Kiser emotionally shares one huge regret she has over son’s tragic drowning
It’s ‘one of the hardest lessons’ she has to carry
Emilie Kiser has returned to social media for the first time since her three-year-old son Trigg’s tragic drowning with a lengthy Instagram statement, and she revealed one big regret she has.
The influencer was out at a restaurant with friends when the toddler drowned in their garden pool on 12th May, but she still takes “accountability” because she didn’t take proper safety precautions.
In the statement, Emilie said she majorly regrets not having a pool fence installed around the swimming pool, which “could have saved his life”.
“I take full accountability as Trigg’s mother, and I know I should have done more to protect him. One of the hardest lessons I carry is that a permanent pool fence could have saved his life, and it’s something I will never overlook again. I hope amidst this pain, Trigg’s story will help prevent other children and families from suffering the same loss,” she said.
“We miss him every second of every day, and continuing forward often feels unbearable. I never thought we would experience grief in this way or the pain of losing him so suddenly. It’s a pain, heartache, and void that no family should ever have to endure.”

Fences can prevent child drownings by restricting access to pools. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more children aged between one and four die from drowning than from any other cause of death, and there are an estimated 12,000 unintentional drownings every year.
