Revealed: The five UK unis where grads earn higher salaries than Oxbridge students
Erm, how do you transfer unis?
People in the UK tend to put the University of Oxford and the University of Cambridge on a pedestal, and just assume they’re the best unis to go to. But there are actually five UK unis with higher average grad salaries than Oxbridge. Only two out of five of the unis are part of the Russell Group. The others are really rogue.
According to The Times, the average median grad salary in the UK is £28,000. Oxbridge grads tend to earn more than this. The median salary for University of Oxford leavers is £33,500. The median salary for University of Cambridge leavers is slightly higher, at £34,000. But at five other UK unis, grads can earn just as much.
By the way, the Uni of Oxford median grad salary is actually only a smidge above UCL’s median salary of £33,000. UCL does have a few spots left through clearing, if you like the sound of that.

You need to earn a lot to recover from the cost of living in Oxford, tbh
By the way, St George’s, University of London used to be a specialist medical college. City, University of London merged with it at the start of this academic year to form an institution with an even longer name: City St George’s, University of London. Data isn’t available for the salaries of grads who studied at this renamed uni, which is why St George’s, University of London is listed by itself. If you fancy earning more than Oxbridge grads, there are plenty of places available on courses at City St George’s, University of London through clearing.
