Erm, Walton Goggins loved the SNL sketch Aimee Lou Wood said was ‘mean and unfunny’
The rumoured beef just got a little messier
Well, it seems like the drama in The White Lotus isn’t just confined to the screen. Walton Goggins has sparked even more speculation after he came out in support of the SNL sketch that parodied the show, calling it The White Potus. The sketch, which aired last week, put a political spin on The White Lotus, with Sarah Sherman playing Aimee Lou Wood’s character, Chelsea. Walton Goggins seemed to love it, but his praise is only adding fuel to the growing gossip about his relationship with his onscreen love interest, Aimee Lou Wood.
So, what did Walton Goggins say?
So, Walton Goggins was pretty clear about how he felt. He thought the sketch was hilarious. And he even commented on the SNL post saying, “Hahahahahhahaha Amazzzingggg.” Walton Goggins clearly enjoyed it and was all in, even sharing the clip on his Instagram Stories with a cheeky “Smashing.” He also joked with Jon Hamm, who played his character Rick, saying, “Jon… I knew I was miscast.”
It’s clear Walton Goggins praises SNL, but, erm, Aimee Lou wasn’t laughing.
Well, Aimee Lou Wood slammed it, actually
Now, Aimee Lou Wood wasn’t exactly on the same page. She went on Instagram Stories to share her thoughts, and let’s just say she wasn’t pleased about how the sketch portrayed her. Calling it “mean and unfunny,” she made it clear that she didn’t think the joke was clever enough. She pointed out that she was all for humour, but “there must be a cleverer, more nuanced, less cheap way?” she said.

So, what’s going on between them?
Now here’s where it gets a bit interesting. If you’ve been following these two on social media, you might’ve noticed that, erm, they don’t follow each other anymore. Yep, Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood have unfollowed each other on Instagram, which got people talking. This came just a couple of days after Goggins posted a whole bunch of photos of the two of them from The White Lotus. To make things even more curious, neither of them tagged the other in their posts after the season finale of The White Lotus.
But, well, Jason Isaacs, another White Lotus co-star, has tried to shut down all these rumours. Speaking on The Happy Hour on SiriusXM radio, he joked about how everyone thinks they know what’s going on. He said, “Nobody has the slightest clue what they’re talking about.” Jason Isaacs also added that tensions on set were pretty normal, considering the long hours and the whole “actors away on location” vibe.
So, while it’s all still a bit unclear, the silence between Walton Goggins and Aimee Lou Wood — paired with the fact that Walton Goggins praises SNL in a sketch Aimee Lou clearly didn’t vibe with — isn’t exactly a great look.
