Queens supporting queens

In case you missed it, there’s been a big controversy about the people’s princess Aimee Lou Wood and her teeth. An SNL sketch called The White Potus poked fun at the Trump administration by comparing the politicians to characters in The White Lotus. The skit featured an actor wearing false teeth to do an impression of Aimee Lou Wood’s character Chelsea. Our queen called the moment “mean and unfunny”. Aimee Lou Wood says SNL have now apologised to her.

Several celebs have sent messages of support to Aimee Lou Wood after the SNL sketch. Here’s what they said.

Jameela Jamil

The actor has always been very vocal about beauty standards. She did not hold back her response to the Aimee Lou Wood SNL sketch. She wrote on Instagram: “I hate this so much. It’s the least interesting or memorable thing about this brilliant actor. Our next Olivia Coleman. Hilarious, deep, vulnerable and relentlessly lovable.

“We make fun of the assimilation of women, and then mercilessly obsess over anyone with any slightly alternative features from whatever bullsh*t AI standard we have allowed, as women, to take hold of this world.

“I also think she’s so f*cking beautiful and love her face so much and wouldn’t want her to look any different.”

Cara Delevingne

She reposted Aimee Lou Wood’s original story that called the SNL sketch “mean and unfunny”. Cara added, “You are stunning. Period.” Aimee responded with a line of heart emojis.

Marisha Wallace

Marisha Wallace is a broadway star who was in Celebrity Big Brother in 2024.

She wrote on Instagram: “Fellow Sally sister Aimee Lou Wood, you are stunning and an unbelievable talent.”

The phrase “Sally sister” is a reference to the Cabaret character both Aimee Lou Wood and Marisha Wallace have played.

Marisha continued: “I have a gap too. In many cultures it means good luck. And I think you are about to receive and have received many blessings because of it.

“We are so used to everyone conforming and looking alike. It is beautiful to be different. Stay you and stay true.”

“Blows my mind that in 2025 Aimee Lou Wood is that talented and that beautiful and still having to school grown-ups on misogyny and bullying,” the British actor wrote on her Instagram story. “It is crazy that after relentlessly sublime performances in everything she touches there is even a conversation about anything to do with her (magnificent, but regardless…) appearance ever. It blows my mind.

“But in true testament to her beautiful character, she’s handed it all like a boss. Aimee Lou Wood – you are magic, you are an alchemist, I salute you. I’m sorry you’e had to deal with this. You are incredible.”

Tori quoted the poet Maya Angelou. She added: “Each time a woman stands up for herself, without knowing it possible, without claiming it, she stands up for all women.”
