Riverdale to Vampire Diaries: Here’s where you’ve seen The Night Agent season two cast before
We’ve got some new people in season two, including a Pitch Perfect star
After an explosive first season on Netflix, the Night Agent cast is back for season two with more daring fights, tense moments, and the Gabriel Basso resurgence we have all been waiting for.
Night Agent follows low-level FBI agent Peter Sutherland as he uncovers a vast conspiracy theory involving a Russian mole at the heart of the US government. While trying to take down the adversary, Peter is forced to defend former tech CEO Rose Larkin from the men who murdered her aunt and uncle.
After a huge first season, which received 78 per cent on Rotten Tomatoes, it’s back once again with returning cast members and some new faces such as Brittany Snow.
1. Gabriel Basso
Though you might know him as the empathetic Night Agent who proves that good men do, in fact, exist, his actor Gabriel Basso has starred in a number of other things over his career. In his youth, he played the starring role in J.J. Abrams’s Super 8 alongside Elle Fanning before moving on to other projects such as The Kings of Summer and Barely Lethal.
In more recent years, you can catch his chiselled cheekbones in The Whole Truth, Hillbilly Elegy, The Strangers: Chapter 1, Juror #2, and Trigger Warning. Providing season two does as well as the first, I could see Gabriel Basso following in the footsteps of Richard Madden.
2. Luciane Buchanan
Most Read
Luciane Buchanan – who plays tech entrepreneur Rose Larkin in Night Agent – is a New Zealand actress best known for TV shows such as Filthy Rich, The New Legends of Monkey, and Sweet Tooth. She is also set for the main role in Chief of War, an upcoming American historical drama also starring Jason Momoa.
3. Sarah Desjardins
Sarah Desjardins is no slouch when it comes to booking acting gigs, racking up credits in everything from Supernatural to Van Helsing since her first role in 2011’s Magic Beyond Words. Some of her more popular roles included Donna Sweett in Riverdale, Katie in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, and Callie Sadecki in the critically acclaimed Yellowjackets.
In 2025, we will see Sarah in the Tron reboot with Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, and Jodie Turner-Smith.
4. Fola Evans-Akingbola
Fola Evans-Akingbola’s very first acting job was in the British comedy series Youngers, but she has also appeared in Holby City, Game of Thrones, Death in Paradise, Black Mirror, and the new Netflix film Back in Action.
5. Eve Harlow
Eve Harlow is that actress who seemingly never sleeps, and I have seen her in just about every major sci-fi and fantasy franchise of the past ten years. Some top picks include Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D, The 100, Star Trek: Discovery, The Tomorrow Man, 12 Monkeys, and Heroes Reborn.
7. Michael Malarkey
Michael Malarkey’s acting credits include Westworld, Law & Order: Organized Crime, and Quantum Leap, but true ones know his soothing tones from The Vampire Diaries. He played bad-boy vampire Lorenzo St. John – the best friend of Ian Somerhalder’s Damon Salvatore – and it was quite the winning combination if I do say so myself.
8. Hong Chau
Hong Chau became the actress to watch in 2023 after standout performances in both The Whale and The Menu, but she’s also leant her immeasurable skill to Watchmen, American Dad, Big Little Lies, Artemis Fowl, Kinds of Kindness, and Wes Anderson’s Asteroid City.
9. D.B. Woodside
Last but not least is D.B. Woodside, an actor who got his big break in 1996’s Murder One. Since then, he has starred in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Grey’s Anatomy, Charlie’s Angels, Suits, Lucifer, 9-1-1: Lone Star, and Pearson.
There are a couple of new cast members in Night Agent
Season two of Night Agent has also added Arienne Mandi and Brittany Snow to its roster of impressive talent, with the former having worked in The L Word: Generation Q, Love, Classified, and various NCIS shows.
Brittany Snow should need no introduction. Over the course of her career, she has appeared in Hairspray, John Tucker Must Die, Would You Rather, Someone Great, and Red, White and Blue. Her most popular role was undoubtedly in the Pitch Perfect franchise as Chloe Beale.
