Podcasts to memoirs: Here’s everything the Brooklyn Nine-Nine cast has done since the show

It’s been a hot minute since Brooklyn Nine-Nine bid us a tearful goodbye in 2021, and honestly, we still haven’t recovered. After eight glorious seasons of laughs, heists, and heart warming chaos, we said goodbye to Jake, Amy, Rosa, and the rest of the 99th Precinct. But where are our favourite crimefighters now?

Let’s catch up with the cast and what they’ve been up to since leaving the iconic precinct behind.

Andy Samberg – Jake Peralta

It’s impossible to think about Brooklyn Nine-Nine without picturing Andy Samberg as Jake Peralta, the Die Hard obsessed, chaos-loving detective with a heart of gold. Andy hasn’t slowed down since leaving the Nine-Nine. He co-produced and starred in the critically acclaimed time-loop rom-com Palm Springs. He also reprised his role as Johnny in Hotel Transylvania: Transformania, flexing his voice-acting chops yet again. And in true Peralta fashion, he’s staying busy with upcoming projects like 2121, a sci-fi romantic comedy set to release in 2024.

Melissa Fumero – Amy Santiago

Amy Santiago was the ultimate overachiever, and honestly, Melissa Fumero hasn’t fallen far from the character she played. After Brooklyn Nine-Nine, Melissa jumped straight into another workplace comedy, starring in Netflix’s Blockbuster. She’s also made waves in the world of animation, voicing roles in Velma and Marvel’s Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur. And if her recent social media posts are anything to go by, Melissa is hinting at some exciting new projects. Amy Santiago would be so proud.

Captain Holt wasn’t just the ultimate authority figure, he was the heart of the Nine-Nine with his surprisingly sassy one-liners and love for Cheddar the corgi. Andre Braugher’s portrayal gave us a character who was both hilarious and deeply moving. After Brooklyn Nine-Nine ended, Andre took his talents to Apple TV+’s Loot, where he played a brilliant attorney alongside Maya Rudolph, and the critically acclaimed The Good Fight.

Andre sadly passed away last year at the age of 61, leaving behind a legacy of unforgettable performances and a career that inspired countless fans. His impact on television and the portrayal of dignified, complex LGBTQ+ character like Holt will never be forgotten.

Stephanie Beatriz –Rosa Diaz

Rosa Diaz was the ultimate badass of the Nine-Nine, and Stephanie Beatriz has carried that energy into every project she’s taken on since. First, she stunned audiences as Mirabel in Disney’s Encanto, where she not only voiced the lead role but also showed off her surprisingly amazing singing skills (yes, Rosa can SING). If that wasn’t impressive enough, Stephanie also starred in Lin-Manuel Miranda’s In the Heights, cementing her status as a musical theatre actress.

Stephanie recently starred alongside Ted Danson in a new Netflix series called A Man On The Inside.

Chelsea Peretti – Gina Linetti

The self-proclaimed “human form of the 100 emoji ” has kept the spirit of Gina Linetti alive long after leaving the Nine-Nine. Chelsea Peretti has been doing exactly what you’d expect from someone as hilariously unpredictable as her character, dabbling in everything. She’s written, performed stand-up, and voiced roles in films like Sing 2.

Since the show, she’s had more time to host her own podcast called the Call Chelsea Peretti podcast, which she launched all the way back in 2012.

Terry Crews – Lieutenant Terry Jeffords

Terry loves yoghurt, and we love Terry. Since Brooklyn Nine-Nine ended, Terry Crews has been everywhere. As the host of America’s Got Talent, Terry brings his trademark enthusiasm and energy to every episode. He’s also lent his voice to animated series like Craig of the Creek and continues to be a fitness and mental health advocate.

Beyond his work in entertainment, Terry has also written a bestselling memoir, Tough: My Journey to True Power, which dives deep into his experiences with resilience and self-growth.

Joe Lo Truglio – Charles Boyle

Charles Boyle, Jake’s ride-or-die foodie BFF, was the soul of the Nine-Nine. Post-B99, Joe Lo Truglio has taken a surprising turn into darker territory, starring in the psychological thriller Outpost. It’s a far cry from Boyle’s usual goofy antics, but Joe proves he’s got serious range.

In between dramatic roles, he’s also been spotted in comedy projects and indie films, showing he hasn’t left his Boyle roots completely behind. You might recognise him from a new Netflix film, Hot Frosty, where he played a police officer again alongside B99 alum, Craig Robinson.

Joel McKinnon – Norm Scully

Ah, Scully. The man, the myth, the mystery eater. Joel McKinnon Miller has kept a relatively low profile since Brooklyn Nine-Nine ended, but he’s still popping up in small TV roles here and there.

According to his Instagram, he’s landed a part in a theatre production of A Christmas Carol and has pledged allegiance to his chosen American football team via a Halloween pumpkin. So Scully.

Fans like to imagine he’s out there, somewhere, hoarding an unholy amount of devilled eggs.

Dirk Blocker – Michael Hitchcock

Hitchcock, the other half of the precinct’s most chaotic duo, is living his best life post-B99. Dirk Blocker hasn’t taken on any major projects since the show ended, but he’s been spending his time enjoying life and (hopefully) staying far away from “Hitchcock levels” of chaos.

Marc Evan Jackson – Dr. Kevin Cozner

Captain Holt’s dry-witted husband, Kevin Cozner, was a fan favourite for his unmatched sass. Marc Evan Jackson has kept busy since the Nine-Nine, appearing in shows like The Good Place and Reno 911! He’s also taken on hosting duties for The Good Place: The Podcast, proving he’s as sharp and charming as ever.

Craig Robinson – Doug Judy (The Pontiac Bandit)

Doug Judy may have been Jake’s criminal nemesis-turned-bestie, but Craig Robinson has continued to thrive as a comedy king. Since B99, he’s starred in Peacock’s comedy series Killing It, which blends his signature humour with a surprisingly heartfelt storyline. Craig has also made appearances in various films and shows.
