This The Boys theory says Ashley’s costume foreshadowed the Compound V finale twist
This is actually mad
One of the biggest shock twists from The Boys season four finale is how Ashley injected herself with Compound V, starting a transformation into a powerful supe. It was mad to see Ashley get driven to this – but what’s even more wild is this theory on how her costume in both the season three finale and the season four finale basically foreshadows her transformation and what Ashley is going to be like in The Boys going forward.
The theory begins in the season three finale
In the season three finale, Homelander degrades Ashley by forcing her to take her wig off and revealing her trichotillomania – a condition she gained after the stress of running Vought and dealing with the evil chaos of Homelander. The scene is harrowing – as Homelander tries to embarrass Ashley. She has to comply, because she’s powerless against his threat and he could land probably would literally kill her if she didn’t do it.
She’s here wearing a zebra print dress. In the wild, zebras are the common helpless prey of predators. And this is in major contrast to what Ashley both wears and does in the season four finale of The Boys.
The contrast is crazy
In complete contrast, in the season four finale of The Boys the theory explains how her costume shows Ashley in a cheetah print. Whilst Ashley gets the opportunity to flee with A-Train after Homelander orders the deaths of any Vought staff with any dirt on the Seven and their secrets, Ashley does not flee but runs to inject herself with Compound V and transforms into something even more dangerous.

This costume switch suggests in season five, the Compound V souped up version of Ashley will take her from prey to predator. I’m so interested to see what this means for the rest of the Seven and the Boys.
