Who is Larry Kripke? The man who the season finale of The Boys pays tribute to explained
He recently passed away
The season four finale of The Boys was just released and you might have noticed a tribute to someone called Larry Kripke, but who exactly is he? Well if you know that the creator of The Boys is none other than Eric Kripke it makes a lot more sense that the tribute is to his late father, Larry, who passed away in February.
Larry Kripke inspired his son Eric in a lot of ways, and he felt like including a tribute to his father in the season finale of The Boys was a fitting final goodbye to him. Larry passed away in his sleep on February 13 at 80 years old after battling with Parkinson’s and having further declining health due to contracting Covid.
Eric has previously described how capable his father was in terms of managing others and making sure that he got “the best out of people.” Because of the mindset his father had, Eric adopted the same work ethic when he was directing The Boys alongside other projects.
His obituary described more about what he was like as a person, and was written by Eric who said: “He was a stone-cold world champion at life who loved with all his heart and epitomized integrity, kindness, and caring. His father “peacefully passed away beside his beloved wife. His family is overwhelmed with sadness, but this story isn’t about his death, it’s about his life.”
