University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett place in top 20 in new uni rankings for 2024

Students ranked Uni of Leeds as sixth and Leeds Beckett as 14th in the UK

| UPDATED

The University of Leeds has placed sixth and Leeds Beckett in 14th in a new ranking for 2024.

Based on student reviews, the StudentCrowd UK ranking allowed the list to demonstrate “the best-performing universities according to student experience”.

The student reviews, from which the rankings are based on, are broken down into the following categories: campus/ facilities, clubs and societies, Student Union, careers service and internet/ Wifi. Overall University of Leeds received 4.41 stars out of five and Beckett 4.31 stars.

The top five universities included Queen’s University Belfast, University of St Andrews, University of Birmingham, University of Sheffield with Ulster University coming out on top with the highest ranking of 4.49 stars out of five.

However the top three UK universities in the most recent QS World University Rankings (University of Oxford, University of Cambridge and UCL) did not make the top 20.

StudentCrowd UK highlights the importance of these reviews, explaining: “UCAS research shows that ‘online reviews by students’ are the second most important resource for university applicants”.

These rankings cast a spotlight on the “universities which have positively impacted students so much they wanted to write and share their experiences online.”

We hope that our Leeds universities continue to rise in the rankings to come.
