Though not by much…

The Edinburgh Tab polled its readers to find out how students in the city intend to vote in the upcoming general election.

Over 750 students took part in our poll, which ran between October 30th and November 7th.

Unsurprisingly, the party with the most support is Labour. However, their 26.71 per cent overall vote share is perhaps not as large as one would expect from a university cohort, where traditionally students are quite left-leaning.

In second place are the Liberal Democrats, who on 24.56 per cent overall vote share aren't too far behind Labour. Clearly the infamous backtrack on tuition fees is being swept into the tides of history faster than expected.

The SNP are next on 20.51 per cent, followed by the Conservatives on 16.71 per cent.

Unsurprisingly, in last place with only two individual votes and 0.25 per cent overall vote share is UKIP.

Of course, these are early days and there could be big swings to come.
