This is what your favourite OG Musical.ly stars have been up to since the app was deleted

Baby Ariel is 22, I’m going to be sick

From the years 2014 to 2018, Musical.ly became a staple for many of us. Musical.ly had an array of different creators, way before anyone knew of the D’Amelio sisters or Addison Rae, however not all of them reached the same heights as TikTokers have done today. The most popular Musical.ly creators have gone on to become Disney stars or even more high profile models than they once were, fours years on since the app was deleted. However, due to just how popular TikTok creators are now, only those truly loyal to them are aware on the updates of their careers. So while you’re busy reminiscing while watching Musical.ly compilations on YouTube, this is what your favourite OG Musical.ly stars have been up to since the app was deleted:

Baby Ariel

Baby Ariel was arguably one of the biggest names on Musical.ly when the app first launched and was just 14 years old when she rose to fame. Over the years, Ariel Martin grew an army of fans and collated over 10 million followers on Instagram. During her Musical.ly career, Ariel began releasing music and no one should forget her iconic bop ‘Aww’. In 2017, Ariel was named one of the top entertainment influencers by Forbes and that saw her career go from strength to strength. As Musical.ly was deleted, Ariel went on to star in a mini-series called Baby Doll Records, and in 2019 starred in Bixler High Private Eye, a nickelodeon film. Ariel finally got her big Disney Channel break when it was announced she would feature in the Zombies 2 movie as Wynter.

Ariel still uploads to her YouTube channel regularly, sharing vlogs and life updates. Her Instagram is a massive vibe and is a lot less cringe than what it was eight years ago. In September 2022, she announced she would be starring in Suncoast, alongside Laura Linney and Woody Harrelson.

Arii, or maybe better known as TheyLoveArii on Musical.ly rose to fame alongside Baby Ariel due to them both being childhood friends. Arii wasn’t as big as Ariel, and currently has 2.7 million followers on Instagram. She initially joined Musical.ly in 2015 and from there launched her own nail polish line. In 2019, Arii went on to launch her own fashion brand but it pretty much flopped. In an Instagram post, Ari told her followers the clothing company she was working with had rules around the first of her sales, which included selling at least 36 t-shirts from her clothing line. But, no one bought any so she didn’t move forward.

Nowadays, Ari hosts her own podcast called Stoopid Smacked, where she invites her friends along “to talk about everything and anything while voicing their opinions”. Ari also has an OnlyFans account and her Instagram is a huge vibe.

Jacob Sartorius became a living meme on Musical.ly, whether it was because of his lip syncing videos or the evil song Sweatshirt. Jacob has released a fair few songs since 2016 and his most recent is called Temporary Tattoo, however it doesn’t seem to have done so well. In 2018, Jacob famously dated Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown for about year before calling things off.
