Gemma Owen will reportedly star in a new reality show about footballers’ daughters

According to The Sun, Gemma Owen is set to star in a new reality show just weeks after finishing Love Island.

Lime Pictures, the creators of TOWIE, Celebs Go Dating and Hollyoaks will be making the series, which will explore the chaotic lives of footballers’ daughters.

A number of other women are being scouted for the show, like Paul Gascoigne’s daughter Bianca, but Gemma is undeniably one of the biggest stars associated with it at this point.

An source close to the project told The Sun: “This new series is being billed as a one-of-a-kind show which will reveal what it is really like to be the daughter of a famous football star.

“(Lime Pictures) are developing the concept now and ITV have shown a real interest in it. Gemma is top of their casting wish list. Her dad Michael is one of England’s most famous footballing stars and given her huge popularity since she appeared on Love Island – she is the person they want signed up.”

They also spoke about how the show might look once it’s been released. “Bianca (Gascoigne) is also on the list and has been approached about appearing,” they said. “The series will follow the women’s daily lives and will look at the highs and lows of being related to a footballer.”

The insider continued: “It will see them following their dreams away from the football pitch and will show the barriers they face when trying to make a name for themselves. Anyone who thinks being a footballer’s daughter is an easy ride is in for a shock.”
