Over the course of two years, with the help of the FBI, Charlotte managed to bring Moore to justice, and despite the series also covering the rise and fall of Hunter Moore, it pays particular focus to the victims and Charlotte.
Hunter Moore is a convicted criminal who was the face behind the revenge porn website IsAnyoneUp.com, which has since been taken down following his incarceration. But who is the woman that managed to bring down the self-proclaimed “professional life ruiner”?
Who is Charlotte Laws?
Charlotte is an American author, animal rights activist, actress and anti-revenge porn activist. Her daughter, Kayla, was a victim to Hunter’s revenge porn website. Her email account was hacked into and her private naked photos were posted online. Charlotte fought to have her daughter’s photos removed from the website, and also got justice for other victims. Charlotte has since gone on to work as a columnist for The Washington Post and The Los Angeles Times.
Before she married and had Kayla, Charlotte was an actress who dated Tom Jones for three years when she was 18 years old. In her memoir, Rebel in High Heels, she said: “Dating Tom increased my self-confidence. After all, he was my ‘dream guy’, and I had been thinking about him for ten years prior to our first date.”
In the 1990s, she married Charles Parselle, an English barrister, and the two had their daughter Kayla. Charles is in the Netflix documentary, and helped his wife in her fight for justice.
