Bad Education cast

This is what the cast of Bad Education is up to now

Chantelle did not get her Alfie Wickers happy ending

It has been 10 years since we were introduced to Alfie Wickers and his chaotic history class at Abbey Grove School. Whether it was the classroom reenactments of historical moments or Alfie’s undying love for Miss Gulliver, something was always happening in that school. Since the show ended, the cast have gone on to make their mark in Hollywood, had children, and won awards. They grow up so fast. This is what the cast of Bad Education is up to now:

Alfie Wickers – Jack Whitehall

Jack Whitehall was the most well-known out of the Abbey Grove crew. He played the childish Alfie Wickers. Since the series ended, Jack has gone on to host the Brit Awards and the Royal Variety Performance. He has continued acting and has made it in Hollywood after starring in Clifford the Big Red Dog, where we were subjected to that American accent. The comedian also has his own Netflix show, Travels with My Father.

Jack is in a relationship with fashion model Roxy Horner, they made their relationship exclusive in March 2020 after isolating together in London.

Shaquille ‘Simon’ Fraser – Mathew Horne

Mathew Horne played the ridiculous headteacher, Fraser. Horne is best known for his role in Gavin and Stacey. Since the show ended, he has gone on to star in multiple Catherine Tate projects, including Catherine Tate’s Nan and This Nan’s Life.

In 2021, Mathew married his girlfriend Celina Bassili in Norway. Celina is a Norwegian set designer and she worked on the Gavin and Stacey Christmas special set.

Rosie Gulliver – Sarah Solemani

Miss Gulliver was the teacher we never wanted but needed if you wanted to pass your GCSEs.

Sarah Solemani is best known for her role in Him & Her, which won a BAFTA award. However, since leaving Abbey Grove School, she has gone on to star alongside Renee Zellweger in Bridget Jones’s Baby. Currently, she is starring in her own show Chivalry on Channel 4 alongside Steve Coogan. Sarah is married to Daniel E. Ingram, a sustainable investment expert. They wed in 2012, and have two children together.

Stephen – Layton Williams

One half of the comedic duo that is Stephen and Chantelle, was played by Layton Williams, an extravagant and theatrical pupil.

Layton has just finished starring as Jamie New on the Everybody’s Talking About Jamie UK tour. He previously played the role on the West End and in the USA. He continues to feature on television shows like The Cleaner on BBC. In 2019, he reunited with his former co-star on Jack Whitehall’s Christmas with My Father on Netflix.

Chantelle – Nikki Runeckles

Chantelle was the voice of us all in 2012, with her huge crush on Alfie Wickers. Since the show, Runeckles has left her acting days behind her. Back in 2021, she was pregnant with her second child with her partner Joel.

Jing – Kae Alexander

The most sensible student to walk the halls of Abbey Grove School was Jing, played by Kae Alexander. Kae has starred in a load of television shows since Bad Education, including Game of Thrones, Fleabag, and recently The Wheel of Time. Her latest film Infinite sees her starring alongside Mark Wahlberg and Chiwetel Ejiofor.

Joe – Ethan Lawrence

TikTok has taken over the sound of Alfie calling out for Joe, allowing us to reminisce on their interesting student-teacher relationship. Most notably, Ethan has played James in Netflix’s After Life. He is also an ensemble actor in Horrible Histories.

Mitchell – Charlie Wernham

Class clown Mitchell is the pupil with the confidence everyone wished they had at 16. Charlie is currently in Eastenders as Aaron Monroe, however, this is not the first British soap he has starred in. He previously played Robbie Roscoe in Hollyoaks following the end of Bad Education.

Last month, he and his long-term girlfriend Emma Collis got married.

Rem Dogg – Jack Binstead

Best mates with Mitchell, Rem Dogg was always up to something. Since the show, he hasn’t appeared in anything on-screen and has turned to the world of sports. He was recently selected for the England team to compete at the Blackball World Championships in France. He also has a daughter named Daisy.

Grayson – Jack Bence

The school bully that everyone feared, including Alfie, was played by Jack Bence. 10 years on, Jack has gone on to star in Eastenders and Small Axe. He is set to feature in the film, The Irish Connection, due for release in July.

Cleopatra – Weruche Opia

Cleopatra joins Abbey Grove in season three and is a no-nonsense teen with a soft spot for Mitchell.

Most notably, Weruche starred alongside Michaela Coel in I May Destroy You, as Terry, Arabella’s best friend. She revealed she almost turned down the role due to its graphic nature. She also recently played the role of Merle in ITV’s Our House.
