The 10 worst Drag Race All Stars episodes of all time, according to IMDb

When I rounded up the 10 worst episodes of RuPaul’s Drag Race the other week, I purposely chose to leave out All Stars. Why? Because I think when things go wrong on All Stars, they really go wrong. There’s a special kind of fuck up that happens, and a special kind of anger from fans. Tensions rise, queens eliminate each other and the endless twists can leave many furiously bellowing rigga morris at their TV screens. I also included UK Versus the World in the mix – it follows an All Stars format even if it’s its own thing. Here are the 10 worst episodes of Drag Race All Stars ever, according to their user rating on IMDb.

10. RuPaul’s Gaff In (All Stars 1)
IMDb Rating: 6.3

People’s frustration with this episode came from how much it highlighted the core issue of All Stars 1 – queens should never have been competing in pairs in the first place. This episode saw Nina Flowers go home before her time because of her partner Tammy Brown’s low placement – and it put a bad taste in fans mouths. There’s a reason the show never did pairs again.

9. Get a Room! (All Stars 5)
IMDb Rating: 6.1

Get A Room is just a bit of a nothing episode – and one where fans were unhappy with the All Stars 5 judging. Did Mariah deserve to go home? No, because she’s an icon. There was more focus on drama than a good challenge on this week’s episode – but Alexis Mateo was an icon in it and I’ll hear not another word.

8. Semifinals (UK Versus the World)
IMDb Rating: 6.0

The judging of UK Versus the World practically caused civil unrest it felt that bloody produced. Here, Jujubee is crowned the winner even though both Blu and Mo outdid her – and Baga once again whisks through unchallenged. The song kind of banged though.

7. Snatch Game (UK Versus the World)
IMDb Rating: 6.0

A few things here that solidifies UK Vs the World’s Snatch Game to sit amongst the worst episodes of Drag Race All Stars. One, the Snatch Game was just terrible in general besides Blu and Baga who really killed it. But most importantly, Blu chose to send Pangina home. Personally, I thought this was great TV and a comeuppance for Pangina who did the exact same to Jimbo the week before – but if you were team Pangina then I can imagine many outraged fans took to IMDb to low rate their fury.

6. Grand Finale (UK Versus the World)
IMDb Rating: 5.8

I think the Grand Finale of UK Versus the World appearing in the top 10 worst episodes of Drag Race All Stars speaks more of people’s disappointment with the series as a whole rather than the end result. Blu deserved her win – but fans were unhappy with the journey to that crown. There was so much hype for this season and it should have been amazing, but production felt all over the place and it ended with a whimper rather than a bang.

5. West End Wendys (UK Versus the World)
IMDb Rating: 4.9

The moment that this season truly hit the iceberg. A dreadful, DREADFUL Rusical followed by Pangina taking out Jimbo – the queen most fans wanted to win and see in the finale. No shocks that this episode is on the list. Dark, dark days.

4. A Jury of their Queens (All Stars 3)
IMDb Rating: 4.1

Is this a bad episode of TV? I’m not so sure that it is. Kitty Girl is an amazing performance, one of the best ever – a true spectacle and the one take gimmick is amazing. Yeah, the jury twist is unfair and left us with the wrong top two – but it was still juicy to watch. Shangela was robbed, but Trixie is a deserving winner and has gone on to become the highest earning and most successful queen in franchise history. Of course, the outrage and bitterness of the queen’s jury resulted in the poor rating on IMDb.

3. RuPaul’s Best Judy’s Race (All Stars 4)
IMDb Rating: 4.0

One word: Manila. The outrage! The fury! Never seen anything like it in the herstory of Drag Race. If this episode wasn’t amongst the 10 worst Drag Race All Stars episodes on IMDb something would have been afoot.

2. Sex and the Kitty Girl (All Stars 4)
IMDb Rating: 3.8

How do you damage control the disaster of Manila Luzon going home before her time? Erm, not by airing the worst ever acting challenge in Drag Race herstory the week after. Truly diabolically bad.

1. Super Queen Grand Finale (All Stars 4)
IMDb Rating: 3.3

Oh dear oh dear. Did anyone want a double win? No. Happy for Monét and happy for Trinity – but a flop ending to a season that squandered itself with messy decisions in its final few weeks. A fandom that was NOT best pleased
