You season three is coming soon and the creator says it’s ‘bonkers’ and ‘insane’

I’ve never needed anything more in my life

We’re a little closer to knowing the exact date for when season three of You will be released on Netflix, and the creator of the series has teased us saying that the new episodes are “f***ing bonkers”. Which to be honest, if they were anything less than that, I’d be shocked.

Filming for the new season has officially ended, with season three wrapping this weekend. Netflix also announced in its latest shareholder letter that the new instalment is expected in the final quarter of 2021 – which to me and you means that it will finally be available between October and December of this year.

In a thread on Twitter, the show’s creator and writer, Sera Gamble, has shared a whole lot more about the show too.

The creator of You has said that season three is going to be ‘f***ing bonkers and insanely good’

In the thread, Sera began: “Today is our last day of shooting season 3 of #YouNetflix. Can I brag to you for a hot second?”. She then went on to explain that on set they managed to have no positive Covid results, despite a spike in LA, due to the hard work of production staff and crew. She said that the team administered over 32,000 tests and had no cases in 77 days.

She added: “I feel privileged to have gotten to witness everyone’s creativity, resilience and kindness. I mean, I knew our team was tough and good at their jobs, but holy shit did everyone show up for each other. All the way up the Warner’s/Netflix ladder and in every production department.”

Sera then went to speak about the new episodes of the show, saying: “Also, the episodes are fucking bonkers and the performances are insanely good. That’s all I’ll say about that till we are ready to talk about the new season.”

Speaking about how much the pandemic had affected their work, she said: “We started work on this season in February of 2020. Week two or three of the writers’ room, I asked our writers assistant to track how often we sidetracked to talk about the new virus that seemed to be spreading fast. One morning it was every four minutes.

“The week we all locked down, I spent so many hours on the phone with our line producer and with our producing director, trying to wrap our minds around how the fuck we were going to even approach prepping this season.

“So, this is why I’m shouting these numbers from the rooftops. A year ago, we had no idea how shooting this season would be possible. I mean… YOU doesn’t really work if there’s no romance or, y’know, murder-type contact.”

She concluded: “So when you hear about a show like ours making it to the finish line, now you know a bit about what getting there means this year. And thanks for all the lovely responses! I am forwarding all good vibes to the cast and crew. Hope you love the season when it gets here.”

If season three of You really is this “bonkers” (it will be), I need it NOW.

The release date for season three of YOU on Netflix is expected to be in the last quarter of 2021. To be the first to know the exact date, and for all the latest Netflix news, drops, quizzes and memes like The Holy Church of Netflix on Facebook.
