Can you write your dissertation in less than 48 hours?

And still get a 2:1

| UPDATED

Warwick graduate Paddy Hillyer once wrote his entire dissertation in one 40 hour sitting. He still got a 2:1.

While he may have binged on expensive sugary drinks and snacks, hallucinate, and have his skin turn yellow, he’s still not even the quickest person to write a dissertation. Others claim to have written it in less time.

Jake Stennett says he wrote his 10,000 word project in 36 hours, although he did get a 2:2. He said: “I probably could have got a better grade had I been a bit more organised, but I’m proud of my 2:2.”

But Catherine Lux still holds the award for the fastest ever dissertation. The Sociology and Communications student claims to have finished hers in just 16 hours. “I started at 5pm the night before and then had it printed out and finished the following day”, she said. “I work really well under pressure and am a pretty fast writer once I have an idea in my head, and I really struggle to focus when I have a lot of time to do something.” Catherine also got a 2:1.
