What actually happened to Lizzie Borden’s birth mother? Her untimely real life death explained

In new Netflix series Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, we’re made to believe she killed her step mother, and her father. In real life, she was never found guilty of the killings. One thing that is also hugely skipped over is what happened to her real biological mother, whom Lizzie Borden didn’t really ever know.
The birth mother of Lizzie Borden is in the show a bit, as we see flashback scenes to her funeral, and Lizzie’s father Andrew Borden is seen as having visions of her before he died. However, the Netflix show doesn’t actually explain why she died, and what happened to her.

What happened to Lizzie Borden’s real biological mother and how did she die?
Lizzie Borden’s birth parents were Andrew and Sarah Borden. They got married on Christmas Day of 1845, and welcomed Lizzie in 1860. Just three years later, in 1863, Lizzie’s biological mother Sarah passed away. She was just 39 at the time.
Sarah had been ill for a long time when she passed away. According to The Herald News, she died after suffering from uterine congestion and spinal disease. According to Cleveland Clinic, this can cause chronic pelvic pain and other symptoms. It involves problems with blood flow in your pelvic veins. Blood flows backward, causing your veins to swell and twist.
Sarah is now buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River. She is buried alongside other members of the Borden family, including her husband Andrew and daughter Lizzie, in the family plot. The grave of Lizzie Borden is cited to be one of the most frequently visited gravesites at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Around two years after Sarah died, Andrew married his second wife, Abby Borden, in June 1865. The couple were murdered in their home in 1892. While Lizzie stood trial for the murders of her Andrew and Abby, she was later acquitted. Nobody was found guilty, and the deaths still remain a mystery.
