Channel Nine addresses claim ‘off-camera incident’ was real reason Chris was ‘asked to leave’ MAFS
His exit with Brook wasn’t all it seemed
What a week it’s been on MAFS Australia. The dinner party descended into chaos, and when we thought Brook was going to get her telling off from the experts, she upped and left. From there, it looks as though she and Chris are through with the experiment. But now, Channel Nine has been forced to respond to some rumours surrounding how Chris left MAFS Australia.
It looked to us as though he was pretty much jilted, as Brook left the commitment ceremony and didn’t come back. She declared their relationship nothing but a friendship, and when Mel began giving her feedback, stormed out.
As this happened in Australia, rumours began to circulate that a huge “off-camera incident” had happened between Chris and Brook, and he had actually been “asked to leave” the show by producers. It was claimed their on-screen exit was not at all what happened.
The MAFS Funny podcast had claimed that after Brook left the show (for the first time), and then came back for the dinner party, something major happened. “[Another] big thing happened off-camera that basically changed everything, and he was made to leave within 48 hours of that thing happening,” the host said.

However Channel Nine, that airs the show in Australia, has since said this firmly wasn’t the case. The channel denied the allegations, and told New Idea Chris was “100 per cent not removed or asked to leave the experiment”. It was said the channel was “just as shocked as viewers” to see the wild claims, that were not backed up by any evidence whatsoever.
Both Chris and Brook are also said to have been “left devastated” by the accusations, which suggested Chris had done something serious off-camera.
“There is absolutely nothing to substantiate these claims,” the source said. “Chris has been deeply upset by the suggestion [that] he did something untoward. It simply did not happen.”
